Im using the Yaesu VX-7R right now. Its waterproof and built to milspec with a magnesium case. Its a good, rugged radio for harsh enviroments. If I could change anything about it, I would do away with the wideband, useless shortwave coverage and improve performance above 30 mhz. It has true dual receive and a slew of other functions, including a specrtrum analyzer.

My current HT is the Yaesu FT-60. Dual band 2m/70cm. A nice, light weight compact unit that was not terribly expensive.

I use the 2-band Yaesu FT60 as well, at times with a directional antenna, though that is a bit unwieldy.

The older and out of production Kenwood THD7AG, 2 meter and 440 and APRS. Now if I could only find a replacement Lithium Ion type battery for it.

You into fox hunts?

They happen regularly up here, but I haven't been involved yet. I do net meetings a couple times a week, and talk on and off. Only have my basic, which limits me.

Just curious about your using a yagi. The club I'm a part of here, do quite a bit of fox hunts, mostly using home brew antennas.
So far, I just haven't gotten up enough interest to get into it. (the fox hunts that is.)
I have a general ticket and have been in it a couple of years or so. Really got into it more for back country communication than anything else.
