Sounds like poor planning on your part. You had a spot, decided to leave at 1am get an empty trailer and then return at 2:30 hoping there would still be a spot open. Probably should have just waited till morning to go get trailer and that way you would not have put yourself in this situation.

Really, and if conditions allow it,AND I am in the "right" mood...-I am gonna box that bobtail in....let him knock on the door all he wants..
rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
Never understood the "hard to find a place to park" mentality. I never have a hard time finding a place to stop. And I run mostly the east coast and over to the Chicago area. Instead of complaining about lack of parking, people should do a little better job of trip planning to to avoid this problem.

That's why I liked running at night.

Oh I know it was poor planning, poor planning all the way around. I could have waited till my 10 was over to get the trailer, however that would have required me to travel to exit 44 and back to exit 65 during the morning traffic, and would have made me late for my pickup that morning. This bad day started the evening before in Ardmore when during a drop and hook the place where I delivered would not allow me to take an empty out. I then spent several hours looking for one. I am a green driver and I don't know the Ft Worth area real well. I just gave up till I got called with good directions to a place where I could get my trailer. There was no place by this time for me to park so I parked on an exit till my appointment time and got loaded. That day was yesterday and it ended with me at campbells soup in paris texas broke down at their main gate on the inbound scale for almost 2 hours. I am now in a hotel waiting till monday for my unit to get repaired. I am just playing computer games and looking forward for my 34 hour reset.

I congratulate you on you're ability to find parking 100% of the time. In my case sometimes I get loading or unloading appointments anywhere from 7PM till midnight. I can't refuse these pickups or deliveries and keep my job, so no matter how I trip plan I still get stuck trying to find a parking place late. I have only been on my own since Jan 28th but so far most of the time I can find a safe place to park and not be in the way.

actually I'm very good at trip planning but I like to drive more than 150 miles in a day..

I see a lot of drivers disconnect and use 2 spaces. I don't understand this. I'm hoping they are swapping loads and "reserving" a parking space for the swap. But most of the time they are still there after my ten...........
-
on the swap I got yelled at for that one time and it was because the swap was suppose to happen in 2 hours then 4 hours then he decided he was out of hours and so forth. so I;m not a magician and in some places it can be a bear and when you have to go by someone elses clock its hard to plan. and I ain't perfect like some people.

when I trip plan I set myself up to have 2 to three spots where I can park.....this doesn't always work...depending on the area......but I've always managed to find parking.....sometimes I had to earn it so to speak, but most times I've found a spot no problem
