Getting back into trucking....

I hope I'm in the right place to post this...so here goes.
I got a DUI back in 2004. Well, I got a fine of 1500 bucks and supervision. I then leased my truck to OX and then the second week into it a J. B. driver tore my hood off at the T/A in Troutville. (I was legally parked about 8 in from the end...with plenty of parking available.) Needless to say, since I was down...I was unable to come up with the 1500 for the fine...and was revoked for 3 years.
Well, since the time has been up for awhile now...I've been jumping thru hoops getting my license back. I think I'll be ready in April or May.
My question is .... How hard is it going to be for me to get back into trucking? Will I have to go thru training since it's been so long? What are my options?
I will tell you one thing..I never had a drinking problem and since this happened, I've stopped entirely. NOT WORTH IT!!!
The real deal is I was out running some errands, seen a bud of mine was at the bar ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE and stopped in. The police nailed me taking my pickup ACROSS THE STREET to my house. ..alcohol does help the "bad judgment calls". OH..how this has tore my life up. I'm a trucker with 26 years under my belt before this happened. It's what I do and I miss it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. ...and I know...I'll get the occasional.... "You should have known better!".

Yea..I know about the 10 years some companies want. A lot of them only require 5 tho'.
And as far as far as you saying that I "should know"....can't say that I do. I've never had to go through this aspect of it before.

 

It's hard sometimes, to swallow the pride, ain't it? Hard to imagine going out with a trainer that wasn't even in grade school when I started driving. But...I understand that HOS rules have changed along with load securement on flatbed loads. I suppose a couple of weeks wouldn't kill me. Gotta do whatcha gotta do.
