I was offered a position with Schneiders liquid bulk fleet once I am finished with school. I already have my X endorsement and twic card that is required. I was told by drivers with other companies that usually you need a lot of time on the road before you should move into tankers and Schneider will hire anyone. Should I shy away from this?

I did it right out of school with another company. My guess is that most of those drivers haven't pulled tanks. They are easier to roll over but only if you jerk them around or go too fast around corners.

IMHO it's better to learn on a tanker than switch to one later.
the surge will hit you hard before you ever get off the lot, and you'll never forget you're driving a tanker. -
I came out of driving school to pull hazmat tanks. You will quickly learn to be a very smooth driver.
It wasn't easy and it takes a certain kind of person to jump into tanks as their first driving job.
All I can say is go for it if it is a job that you think will work for you.
Good Luck
