Update!! I stopped at this Hess station on I-26 exit 139 tonight.

I did a visual audit of all the cars in there as I was driving in and I noticed every car in there had an in-state tag. There were a fair amount of cars coming and going so I figured I hit the jackpot. I went inside and the place was hopping. I figured I was on to something. Went to the bathroom..everything was in order. Looked around the store...everything was in order. Went to check out and the cashiers were smiling and friendly! There was one lady sitting behind the registers at a table with an adding machine and she didn't look very happy and she was texting so either her shift was just over, her drawer was short or she just hates her job.

Determined not to give up I went inside the Arby's. Looked around and saw the place was empty except for one customer at the counter. The employees were walking around cleaning stuff. It was rather dimly lit. I thought to myself "Gee, people coming in and out but noone at the Arby's, I wonder why." So I went up and looked at the menu. Holy moley Arby's is expensive! I got the heck out of there. No wonder noone stops in there to eat.

So to summarize my experience tonight: nothing out of the ordinary.

    Case closed.

My most profound observations took place in the 1998-2000 time frame.

I was running a shuttle from Charlotte, NC to Savannah, GA at the time and always stopped in on the trip down; always after dark. No Arby's at the time but a 'Bullets' instead. One 'event' really spooked me at the time and I never returned until a singular visit in 2003.

I was running a route (different employer) that started in Macon, GA and finished in the Charleston, SC metro. On my way back to Charlotte after dark one evening I decided to stop in and give the place another shot, keeping in mind what had transpired one evening three years earlier.

No sooner than I walked out of the restroom I experienced an exact 'repeat' of the event that prompted me not to return previously. Unfortunately, this 'event' was much more violent (verbally). I witnessed the same verbal 'altercations' (always manufactured) directed many times toward others at this same location for no obvious reasons. I didn't give it alot of thought until it started happening to me.

That one 'visit' spooked me soo much I never returned until the singular visit last spring. My 'presence' at that 'location' seems to be 'unsettling' to ??? I've seen enough in my life that I realize there is alot more to 'reality' than most of us realize.

That's no joke. That whole area down there from Orangeburg, Santee, and on into Charleston is a huge crack and meth area. That's why he percieved hostility and imaginary altercations. Everyone was tweaked out.
