Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the 2011 International...wipers stay on all the time and at the same time the 12v system goes out along with the qualcom. Our truck has been in the shop for 3 days with mechanics scratching their heads.

I haven't heard about "ghosts" in the International. Volvo has similar problems, headlights come on, windows roll down, wipers, etc. One of the fixes in the volvo is reseating the plug in the wiring harness. Hope they find your fix soon.

But at least Volvo is made in the US, as is Mack.
International, Freightliner, Pete's, KW's, Western Star, and all the rest are made in Mexico. With a few made in Canada.spuddatruckdriver Thanks this. -
Have the shop check for the recall on the right side wiper assembly. If the wiper does not return to its resting position, it will cycle again....and again...until it catches and stops where it's supposed to. Also maybe replace the wiper motor. You would be amazed how one little component can mess up an entire system.

My mentor had a 2010, and it had problems with the high beams on occasion. Sometimes they just would not stay on, and sometimes it would take two or three clicks to turn them off.

Sheesh! Makes me not want the 2011 that our fleet manager said he's getting for us. Skippy the Volvo did that stuff, windshield wipers would suddenly come on, radio station would change, lights would go to highbeam. Freaky truck.
I hope they get it sorted out for you Wyld. -
The Internationals are riddled with electrical problems. Everything in the dash is controlled by a series of computer ECM units. I was talking to one of my Swift mechanic friends who told me about one of the ProStars that everytime you hit a switch it would control something else. The driver somehow managed to memorize which switches did what, and drove the truck for a month like that before getting into the shop. Not one dash switch was mapped to the right function...not ONE.
But no matter the truck there will be problems. When I was Swift mechanic we had just started getting the Volvos. Volvo cut corners and made the wiring harness too short so it was short out, and they started leaving bolts out of the dash assembly so it would fall in your lap going down the road. Fun, right?
The 2010 Freightliner flatbed trucks are now having issues with fuel problems and pulling power. No one is quite sure what's causing all of that. I just had all 6 injectors replaced in a truck with less than 120k on it...and it hasn't solved the problem.
