Crst has a way of doing things from the drivers rating system to the "q program" wich automatically selects trucks for freight within 50 miles of wherever they are. If you proove to ur dispatcher u can handle hvy lds...thats a tier added on to ur id....then there is hazmat, time sensitive, air frght, ant high value loads....5 tiers to add on ur id. Then if ur good with not getting dot violations or csa2010 points then after a couple of runs and no tix, youll get put on the "q uo computer program" whether they put u on for 2500 mi a week or 2500 mi...thats up to operations...i learned alot at crst because of my good friends the fm,ops, and bosses...they do give u respect that is if ur respectful urself...i did my contract time with crst and never had a major problem,if u want to learn trucking get ready for the school of HARD KNOX. Ive never had legal bs thrown my way...theyre in the business of producing truck drivers at whatever the cost....and yes I made some $$$:biggrin_25524:

Aloha, I have decided to become a long haul driver with crst and don't have the money for training and thinking about the 8-month contract student. I have a son on his third year of college and have no wife or anything holding me back. I want to drive non-stop for 4-5 months and go with their 20/10 program. It seems that with 10 days off in a row would be something that I would like to have since I could travel beck and forth to Maui. How long have you been with CRST and are their others out there that have a similar 20/10 program? I'm 48 w/nothing on driving record and no criminal backgrounds ect. I don't drink or do drugs and get along with most anyone out there. Any advise out there for a newbe

Crst is not a bad company to work for if u have a decent codriver.I have to say the people in cedar rapids are good people their nice and friendly.they offer u what they say they offer they dont lie.My only bad experience with them was having to team up with people i didnt know.i teamed up with tweakers, bums, etc. they also have good people that drives for them that i met.but finding a good codriver in crst is like a match made in heaven type of deal.i also always got paid for all my loads and if there was a mistake i called my fm and they took care of it for me.

Thanks Truckdriver for the input. I hear so many blogs and it is hard for me to understand all the good and bad. I get along with most people since I treat everyone with respect. As far as the tweeks and bums? I will go down to Fontana on the 28th with a very positive attitude. I know that there will be so much to learn so I hope, pray that I get a very good instructor for the 28 days to start and then the co-driver. Thanks for the honest input! DC

your welcome.good luck with crst i hope it works out for u.I am serious about the codriver thing though .even though your nice some of them wont care there just disrespectful.i know one of my codrivers was doing some type of hard drug i couldnt prove it but i know by the way he was acting.thats who i was referring to as tweekers.that guy coudnt even see good at night driving cause the drugs messed up his eyes.but theres alot of honest hardworking people that drive for crst and like i said the people that work in cedar rapids are real nice they will help u if u ever got any problems down the road.

crst is not a good company ,they have a revolving door of hiring suckers, who believe their crap,of lies. HIRE on and become their next victim, and their next slave, just visit the FONTANA CA terminal, and talk to some of the slaves,or the machines call people that they use and abuse, for $.022cent a mile plus per diem. GOOD LUCK FUTHER FOOLS ,and SUCKERS just say i told you so,this message is sent with love,i dont want you to get ,BEATDOWN

    Hey RC
Where and how did you get your start in the industry.
These newer drivers have to START somewhere.
My son likes it at CRST.
He gets his .08cpm raise Tuesday
    And has been running good.
It's just like any other company IT'S what you the driver make it to be.

    Thanks Landshark,

I start with crst training school on Mon 28th in Fontana. The person you responded to earlier was completly right when he labeled himself as a fool. You were right when you wrote that it is up to the driver him/herself to make it in this world. But that goes for anything that you do right? Where it is another job, family, friend and life itself it still boils down to you to make it. Thanks for the positive response !:biggrin_255:

Good luck with CRST. As a few have mentioned...it's all going to be what YOU make it. Not every company is good for everyone and not everyone is good for every company. I've found that I have been able to make it at any company (save one) that I've worked for or leased onto just by doing my job and not whining. Just be sure to follow the policies of who you're working for...it is there ballgame. Take the good with the bad and you'll end up with more of the good. I think it's a karma thing.
