Are there any schneider national owner operators here i'm planning to lease with them out of guelph terminal and would like some info on miles and how schneider runs there ic. Is it better to go percentage or milage based runs. Also is schneider on paperless logs now and do ic's have same system for qualcom as to company drivers.
Thanks
Schneider owner operators

Tried but could not find any real info on pumpkindriver.com

Did you register and pose the question there? I don't see it on their Canadian forum so maybe you placed it incorrectly.
Try submitting your question here. http://www.pumpkindriver.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=24
It doesn't appear to be overly busy but surely someone @ Pumpkin Driver.com can answer your questions. Make sure you tell them you are Canadian as the Canadian and American O/O contracts are vastly different. I would be surprised if they did a percentage contract with Canadian O/O's as the last time I spoke with a Canadian Pumpkin driver they were doing a lot of terminal drops in either Carlisle or Indy.chauhanprv Thanks this. -
Thanks MGFG you are right they do not offer percentage out of Canada right now. I know everyone here will say I'm going with the Schneider one reason is that they have lots of drop and hook and now with schneider also on the Electronic Logs its does make sense to do drop and hook rather then waiting at the shippers and receivers and running low on the 14hr clock and not driving. I will keep everyone posted once I start with them. Thanks for all the help. Last thing cannot registered on Pumkin driver. I will start posting end of this week is it ok to post under the same thread or I will need to start a new thread.

Create a new topic to make it easier.
They have had guys around there for a long time so it can't be all bad. I am quite sure with just their shear size and useing a quallcom it is very impersonal. I believe your thinking may be correct IF you get a dispatcher who watches his/her trucks and pre-plans them. If not then you will be sitting like everyone else(except me) watching their 14 flutter away.
Good luck, I look forward to seeing how it works for you.chauhanprv Thanks this. -
I'm not Canadian but did just re-lease to SNI after several years. Yes IC's use paperless logs now. I'm so happy that they took me back for the 3rd time! It's a wonderful company with many perks the others just don't have. The O/Cs are just 1 example but there are many others. Whyd I quit the 1st 2 times? Thought the grass was greener other places,,,it wasn't even close! I will retire with SNI.
Luck my friend.

Thanks Two Lane Will be In the orientation Next week In Guelph terminal if you don't mind can you tell me how much drop and hook you usally do. I know been there done that same like you but before I was driving for a fleet owner which was back in 1996 and haven't seen company like SNI. If you could also give me some insiders since its been a while when i was thee last time. I heard that they have closed the GreenBay Terminal is that true or just a rumour.
-
I heard the same about the G/Bay terminal so it's probably true?
I did find out the hard way that the o/c at Columbus is closed, so make sure you get the latest map from SNI.
As far as drop/hook for my 1st. 4 week round it was about 75% .
I did recieve live-load pay, shorthaul pay,& detention pay w/o having to ask. 100% fsc (.035 cpm) for all dispatched miles.
Here's a heads-up....As soon as you arrive at the shpr or consignee, bring up the p/u or del info macro and press "reply". X the appropriate box. When you leave, do it again and X the depart box. This will time your detention to the minute.
For me the learning curve on the q/com was long because I made it too complicated. At orientation they will have a laminated 8x11 card titled Basics to a work assignment. Do exactly what it says, nothing more or less. As far as fuel at the o/c's goes it's guaranteed to be the cheapest price in the state. I paid $3,29.9 in Dallas & Laredo when it was $3,48.9
at the local t/stops for example.
Theres much more as you will find as you go.
C-ya out there!
R.
BTW,,,if a 3rd. party lumper is required SNI will pay it as well as all tolls & scale tickets. Tough act to follow dontcha think?
