I'm thinking about relocating to the Houston,TX area.
Have 25+ years exp, clean class A CDL with tank, hazmat, doubles.
Have a TWIC card and 5+years tanker experience.
Looking for a local job, no overnights, no over the road.
Don't want any companies that run junk or bald tires please!
need good company suggestions Texas

Must be something over near Laporte, with all those refineries.

There's a buttload of jobs here. Indeed is a good start. There is also Careerbuilder, too. I posted a resume on the internet and my job called me first. That was nice.
The usual suspects run continual ads here. Schnider (claims local tank work), JB Hunt, Swift, Arnold, and Stevens has "hiring events" at TX workforce.
There are also many CDL staffing agencies, too. I used to work in staffing so I was leery, but many of them claim temp to perm. It's the perfect way to get to know your potential employer, without screwing up your DAC by bailing out real quick like.
You'll have no trouble, just take your time to find a good gig. I did and couldn't be happier! (Local M-F hourly.)
Good luck! If I can help send a PM. -
There's 2-3 companies just East of Baytown on I-10 with hiring signs for tank drivers out front. I'll get you the phone numbers when I head that way tomorrow.

Here's another good site to check out. Just type in what city and it will give you a list of companies hiring in that area.

Also check out craigslist. There are some pretty good gigs posted from time to time on there. Good luck to you! -

Petroleum Express 281-385-6700. Martin Transports Inc (apply within). Regional/OTR 281-385-6377. And 877-648-8032 is another. All within a half mile stretch. Good luck!
