try out crst, they will give you cdl training, all u have to due is sign a 9 month contract with them

I looked at TDI in Sanford but found Roadmaster School in Orlando and it is closer to home. Tuition would be 5000 if you pay up front and alot of the companies reimburse all or part of tuition ( i.e. 150 per month for 3 years ) If you get a loan add 1500 finance fee plus interest. Roadmaster is in the Rosemont area.

I forgot to add. I would get the permit before starting school because there is alot to learn there.

I would get the permit first of all because there is alot to learn there and that gets you over the first hurdle. I don't know of a cheap way unless maybe you know someone who has a rig and will train. Even then there may be insurance issues. Take this advice with a grain of salt 'cause,,,heck,,,I haven't started school yet.!

Sorry for hogging up the page. Some companies offer a $5000 bonus if you sign on as a team driver.

What if you have been out of the game for about 12 years? How do you convince companies that you still have what it takes to be a kick a@# driver?
Reason: (My daughter had a mental condition that required constant care, my wife could not deal with it alone. I am a father and husband first everything else second.)
Now that she is ok on her own I am looking for work and everyone wants me to go back to school. I have over 8 years experience driving what is to me the hardest freight around GASOLINE. Manuvering in and out of gastations is no picnic I assure you. I was never in an accident or had a moving violation. I have called everyone in my area and I am at wits end. If you all can't help me then my dream of driving again is just a dream. This is really frustrating.THE PLAYMAKER and AfterShock Thank this. -
this may or may not have been covered in here but these are just a few things i see everyday or night that really need to be addressed....there is NO NEED to run wide open in the truckstop parking lots......and at least turn your head lights off while you are waiting on someone to back in to a spot it is rude and it makes it hard for the driver backing if your lights are beaming in their eyes.....you will see writing on the stalls dont be one of those idiots who write on the walls WE as drivers are the ones who eventually are the ones who have to pay to either replace or repair or clean the stalls...and if you are bobtailing try to save the parking spaces for trucks with trailers,i mean bobtails can park in 4-wheeler parking or anywhere,and for crying out loud if its night and you want to let another truck know its ok to get over DONT FLASH YOUR HIGH BEAMS.....thats just laziness and it blinds the heck out of the guy passing because they normally do it right as you are looking in the mirror its fine to do it in the day light but at night not a good idea......i think there are alot of trainers out there who are training that have never known the rules of the road themselves and they arent training the new guys on the proper things to do or not do.....they are teaching them to turn their cb off and not to listen to anybody which is fine until you are trying to talk to them about something thats fixing to happen and they cant hear you.i learn more everyday out here on these roads and i have been at it for 15 years.....but looks like we wont have to worry much longer about alot of us on the road since obama said the other day on t.v that they are going to start letting mexican trucks come on the u.s roads.....and if you think you have nothing to worry about you are wrong......this will impact the american driver like nothing else has....either losing jobs or getting in more accidents.

Get an education and do something with your life besides drive a truck. There ain't no money in it and it will put you in an early grave.It's the most boring job in the world. Now this is profound advice and my only post.I have no reason to lie. I'm 55 years old and my Dr. said I will not see 60.This is all due to the insanity of trucking for close to 3 million miles.I can not think of a worst profession for anyone to choose.Think!
