Noticed people are saying around 2000 miles a week is the average. Is there anything i can do to get more miles. (basically kiss butt in a way). Will be staying 1-2 years (going to try for two) then go to a better company if it presents itself.

You may be lucky getting the 2K,
they are NOT known for very high mileage !!! -
I am getting around 10500-11000 a month or so staying out for 25-26 days on average. This month has been kind of ###### mileage wise but that has been a lot weather related and 5 days of home time.

I drive van can't speak for flatbed.

This applies to any company, not just Roehl.
As soon as you can reliably predict when you will be unloaded at your destination, start hounding your dispatcher for a pre-plan. The more time they have to look for a load for you, the more likely you won't have to sit and wait around after you are empty.
Be a pest. Make them get you a load so you will stop calling them.EnglishMark Thanks this. -
The short answer is "No" Fleet Managers are a bridge to planners, who make the "who gets what" decisions. I think that system was developed to prevent you from kissing butt and taking good loads from another driver, who didn't.
Now, there's something to be said for developing a good relationship with your fleet manager, because s/he may be able to better ask a planner for a favor for a long load for you, assuming they're not in Gary. But, that would be spike mileage, not an over-arcing increase in your general miles/ week.
Now, if you're van, that number does seem a bit low. if your one of them silly flatbeddin' folk, that sounds about right, with winter being about. -
I did better under the old system where the dispatcher was the trip planner. I didn't kiss butt. I just did what they sent me good or bad. I didn't whine and if he needed a favor I did it and vice versa.
