    Until you realize that having just 1 light bulb not working can be an OOS violation.





    Then you realize it for what it is............................................

    Thirteen of the drivers put out of service had either suspended licenses or no commercial driver's license.

    That is outrageous but ultimately believable given trucking companies operating under our awesome FMSCA system...

    OUCH! Driving a CMV with a suspended or revoked license, that hurts.
    fines, court cost, late fee, contemp of court cost and reinstatement fee. plus cost of new CDL if needed plus Haz-mat and background check. Whoah! It is getting too freaking expensive to play around with those fees.

    All it takes is something like a red-light camera ticket notification that doesn't get mailed to you properly to cascade into a suspended CDL. You and your carrier won't necessarily know about it until you get pulled into a scale and they run a check on your CDL.
