Just wondering if there is any money in buying a 14 to 16 inch box truck? Also what type of places would i look to go after? i worked for a guy a couple of year's back, he had five box truck's and we hauled flowers around. Just was wondering if buying a box truck would be worth it, and what type of company's would i go after? Any advice would help thanks :biggrin_255:

My advise would be to find a niche that needs filling and by the equipment to fill it, not the other way around. It sounds like you want to buy an expiditer truck. Where I am there is a need every now and then for O/O of box trucks but I can't say it's an all the time thing.

Yea i guess you could say that, im just looking for something to get into. I guess looking around and see what all jobs are looking at and need, would be the best way to go. Just thought there was a better way to go about it lol, just need to do some more research :biggrin_25523:

depends on the type of box truck. A couple of my buddies have 6 box trucks in their business and they drive around to different yards, DC's etc., fixing trailers, yard trucks. They make a good living doing it to.

I have a class B cdl and have been looking for some part time straight truck work for a while now. Seems like I've seen a couple opportunities for O/O, but not too many. I just wish I could find a part time job driving a straight truck, dump truck, or anything for that matter.

The ads I have seen here in TN you can make as much money working for McD's.

See what your insurance would be. Local pays crap.

Expedited in a regular van or Sprinter OTR or regional?

I'd stay ways from the sprinters..rates are way down..straight truck is ok..but shakey right now..that's if you're going to run expedite.
