We had a recruiter come to our school in Charlotte a couple days ago and he was saying that when you train you do the evo 1, 2 and 3 thing. He said evo 1 was minimum 10 days with trainer, three days off, then evo 2 which was minumum 10 days with another trainer, then evo 3 where you are assigned a truck. Am I to understand this is wrong? As I read the previous post phase 1 would be an orientaion then a phase 2 would your time with a trainer..13 days? I am a little confused. And if anyone knows do they accept recent grads from an 80 hour refresher course? Not mnuch experience before that. Thanks.

Roehl is in the process of changing the training program. If you are doing evos then it is $60/65 for training. If you are doing phases then it is $90. The evolutions are two 10-13 day rotations with on the road with trainers. The phase deal is 9-10 days with local trainers getting in and out of customers, truck stops and class room. Basically it is another CDL school on steroids. Then you go out with a trainer on the road. If you are not cutting the mustard in phase one you will be gone. It will be more intense than the evo training therefore the higher pay. Roehl is trying to solve their problem of too many students and too few on the road trainers. This will cut the on the road training down to ten days instead of twenty. The problem is they can not find or make it worthwhile for local trainers in Gary IN. Once they do it will switched to the phase training. In my opinion I would do the evo until they get the bugs worked out of the phase system.

What you said... Maybe that will free up some of the trainers so I can get out quickly after I finish Phase 1.

You hit the nail on the head, more students than trainers, nobody wants to train anymore, it is not really worth the hassle. You really have to want to do it, and then you still get dumped on constantly. Good luck with your training, I hope it goes well.

That is very odd, most new drivers do EVO 58-59. Have you had a DUI or other serious movong violation?
