Just wondering if there are any Chinese or Asian truckers out there, I have seen none, and being Chinese myself and wanna be a truck driver, I have this kind of stigma I need to overcome. Most truckers I seen is white and second is black and most of them is in their 40's and 50's and I'm Asian and I'm in my 20's so I feel like I dont fit in or something.
Here's some pics that I found on a school of their graduates:

Come to think of it I have only seen a few asian OTR truck drivers. Could be Asians are a tad bit smarter than the rest of us. I see more white middle aged (early 30's) men like myself than any other second by black, and Hispanic, and Muslim/Indian. It is kinda baffling though because there is such a large Asian presence in the united states why there is so extremely few in this profession. They are out there, just extremely few and far between.

Most of the Asian drivers I have seen are running for Oriental food or fish importers. Rarely you'll see an Asian driver in a mega-carrier's truck.
-
Now that I think of it, I haven't seen that many Asian drivers out there. Go for it, set a trend! There were not that many lady drivers when I started back in the 90's. There are a lot more lady drivers now than there were then.

I have seen several mostly driving trucks with California tags. Scary.
-
Why scary, is it like Chinese people can't drive or something?
-
I didn't say that, why did you assume that?
-
Well you know the stereotype against Chinese people, they can't drive because their eyes are slanted and small or something like that, and you say scary so I assume you meant that lol

Touchy,touchy..
Having left Chicago 7 hrs ago,I will say they CANT drive, although I am not sure what their race was,(it was dark)but a FEW were probably Oriental..

How are truck drivers treated in your country of origin? That might have something to do with it;I mean is it a respected job,or something that parents want their children to do? In the US the cultural bias seems to be, go to college earn a degree and get a white collar job,and people with college degrees usually earn more income over their lifetime, then folks w/o degrees.Of course there are exceptions, but overall that is the case.
