Charges for theft?...Wouldn't that be like a drug dealer calling the police because you stole his drugs?...I can see DOT filing charges but the driver?...He'd be an idiot as the one that stole them after not having a problem with them while he was still happy with the company...IMHO only...

DOT is not going to do a darn thing, he is a small fish if they don't catch you on the road or threw a company audit they are not going after the trainer/driver. If this newbie did actually call them they laughed when they hung up the phone, it is one of those we have to catch him in the act. I want to know why he falsified his logs when he has a newbie in the truck, unless he was just an idiot.

It is vary rare that i post. I kind of sandbag and read a lot. If the DOT did do something about the trainer for cooking his logs. Is it right to have a man loss his job because he might be a nasty person. In my eyes your are no better then the company you are talking about. You stole from a man. That is the same thing you are saying that star did to you. Stole your money buy not paying you. I have to say i worked for covenant for about 3 months after i turned 21. They were not the best company in the industry and not the worst. I jumped around job to job. I was starting to accumalate frequent rider miles threw greyhound. My old man told me one day that maybe it is me and not all the companys i hade worked for so i reviewed my life as a truck driver.I have been pulling tank about 12years for the same outfit Every company i worked for asked me to pick up and deliver on time. If i could not make the times let them know. I really want to believe that they never paid you but something tells me you did some thing for them not to pay you.All company's have flaws. Maybe you was the flaw in this situation. If this is not on topic i am sorry
GuysLady, truckerdave1970 and aztrucker11 Thank this. -
Sounds like a recipe for disaster!

Why would anyone want to steal a trainers log pages? I do belive the lawsuit (if it happens to make it this far) will be thrown out of court.
As for the log page theft... Why would you do this? It makes you look bad, and like a thief.
Good luck to you.. -
Well for someone to accuse a company and/or someone stealing from them and then admit to stealing something yourself, I believe that essentially throws any credibility out the window. That's like saying for example you say a bank took $$ from you so u go and rob the bank. 2 wrongs don't make a right! Sounds like a newbie who probably thought they know it all and didn't want to listen to trainer or the company.

If DOT logbook pages are "official government documents", shouldnt they be available for public view? LOL

Another story about a trainee that did not like his trainer and the company.
Fact...most training companies are going to be hard to like.
Fact...most trainers are not going to be easy to like. Reasons such as differences in lifestyle, cleanliness, different tastes in music on and on.
Also many trainers are not fit to train.
Bottom line...get through training and get your own truck.
As far as suing...give it up and "man up" to getting through training somewhere! -
Log books are a legal document. Years ago I was driving for Martin Gas. A co-worker was being sued by his ex for custody of his son. She had filed false claims against him. He used his logbooks as evidence of where he was at time of incident and he kept his son.
