Seems to me that the only length that matters is how much you need to get from the radio to the antenna :biggrin_2556:

Yuppers, Bruce. I don't even post over at qrz anymore; bunch of elitist #$$#01e posters seem to outnumber the helpful ones at least 10:1

When a small group made a grab for BOTH the 6 and 2 meter band I was a thorn in the side of them QRZ BACKED them with the comments of we will lose the bands :biggrin_2556: ....To who ???? :biggrin_25513:

The group of wideband digital hams which was less than 100 people wanted 50.3-54 and 144.3-148 for 100 khz wide digital amd smartly said " But all other modes still have 300 khz" .... very nice of them :biggrin_2559:

Then there was the save CW mess backed by FIST and QRZ ..... INTERESTING but CW is comming BACK .... it's a very good mode and now it's not placed where the sun don't shine :biggrin_25526: people are getting interested in it again .....

Yep they don't like me one bit .....

"Better to sell 18 feet of coax, than 3 feet" I'm sure those antennas were right next to Firestick brand coax too

When you come right down to it, a LOT of stuff to do with radio (and others, too) has to do mainly with the ker-CHING! Yep, the moola! Extra coax, dual antennas, snip and clip jobs for perfectly working radios----all is about transfering $$$ from YOUR pocket to THEIRS!!!!! Of course, there ARE instances where these things, (EXCEPT for the snip 'n clip butchering) are valid and necessary. By fomenting myths and legends, these hack shops get things starting, and they never seem to die. Coax length is one of them. :yes2557:
