Don't sweat the dac report Bubba , ,I just got a pretty good job and they saw that I had a company put that I "abandoned a load" (didn't) they said that they know about using D.A.C /hireright as a "weapon" . . .a childish antic that some weary themselves (in vain) to try and "get" a driver . . .yeah . . .they "got" me alright-a better job!
-
when you are sitting 2 and 3 hours log off duty simple as that
-
Thanks for the update on that trucking company, Bubba . Anyone that knows the trucking industry , knows exactly where you are coming from. The only folks that would question you , would be dispatchers or someone that doesnt have a clue about what goes on out there. Once you get your record cleared , stay away from CELADON . They will make sure it gets messed back up.

The whole post was confusing but this is the most confusing he wrote!
Can anyone tell me if he even understands the 14/10 rule? This "rule" was in effect before the post date but the old 10/8 rule still covered this! So it took 3 days to do 11 hours of driving. If you clocked in at so and so and by hour 14 you had not delivered all your drops then FMCSA/HOS says you stop for 10 hours then you get to start your hours again. Rookies understand this! LOL
I guess that he was "Forced" to drive for 3 days making deliveries whenever they would take them!
I guess they have someone in the truck holding a gun to his head "forcing" him to make those deliveries!
I just had to point this out to a 14 year trucker! I know this thread was a few years old when it was brought back to life but still that one part was about a dumb as anyone could do. Driving for 3 days and making the 11 hours of driving time! Is there some subparagraph in the HOS no one knows about that allows you to stay awake for days on end until you make the 11 hour max driving time? I only see the one where after 14 hours of going to ON Duty, having to stop driving but not working but driving. That HAS to be how he did it as we ALL know that no one can force you to drive over hours, pull over weight freight or drive a POS that will not meet DOT inspection standards.
Only the driver can do any of those things not a dispatcher , LC, FM, or a company owner! -
I have been around this industry to know how it works.. i was not just trainned yesterday.. i have been driving for 15 yrs ... maybe you need to get more experience or work for companies like Nationwide southeast to see how it really works ...
everyone knows if you dont do as told cause they " didn't put a gun to our head " as you quoted, then you sit for 3 to 5 days and get no miles and no miles means no money which means no food for your family ...
that ##### with you drive the truck not them, or they didnt get in the truck and hold a gun to your head .. why dont you tell that BS to everyone who drives a truck who goes through that crap daily and right after they listen to you and they dont run, they can give you their bank account info and you can wire them the money they would have made and are now sitting so they can feed their family or put heat in the house or keep the electric on ...
it happens wheather you like it or not, it happens and it happens to thousands of drivers everyday.. maybe in your world it is all sunshine and rainbows, and that may be good for you .. but its not all sunshine and rainbows, drivers are getting screwed everyday for not running over hrs or not doing as told...
they dont need a gun to their head to know how it works ... ppl who go through this everyday and read this know exactly what i am talking about and the ppl who havent experienced it yet, well, either they will or maybe they got lucky and never will ...
but when it happens and they try your quote " they didnt hold a gun to your head " crap advice, and they sit for a few days as a result, i guess it will prove me right, prove you wrong and leave that certain driver out of money for a few days ...
i dont wish that on anyone, but it happens and it happens everyday to thousands of drivers ... yes, b4 anyone says it, even by the book Werner Enterprises does it as well... I went to them to see how they were and i got right back out of there ... they too even with paperless logs can go over hours ... and have ....
everyone needs to do their research and go with the best company they can at the time they need to ... for the new drivers, get your experience and then get out if need be ........ -
constructionjim was there, he knows how it is and how the games is played ... when iw as there and thankfully it now has been 3 yrs .. their senior driver was named frankie and he was there 3 weeks longer than i was .. so much for ppl who worked there for a few years as one guy put it .. when i was there frankie was there 3 wks longer than I was and most of the guys who were hired right after me, left before me and to this day I still talk to 3 of them ...
hey jim, i bet when you went to the office and mentioned the things wrong they told you they would get to it and put you right back out there, right ... -
OUCH!
I guess he told me!
Yeah I used to get that crap many years ago before I bought my own and it stopped.
Then I went back to a company and it changed!
I told them when given that load of crap to stuff it fix it or it got parked while under a load and then quit when I got their POS back to the yard because it turned out they did that on a regular basics!
When I went in for an interview I put it right on the table that I did NOT drive anything that could get put out of service because someone was a cheap arse and didn't want something that needed to be fixed or repaired in anything but their own shop! I didn't get several jobs because of that but that was my decision as I knew what I could do and get away with! I have found several jobs where what I said they agreed with.
In 1998 I moved back here and got a job with a local 75 truck company. They told me the same thing. It got fixed when it broke.
Then the funniest thing happened.
I had a dispatcher tell me on the phone, before we went to Highway Master to get another log book and get the load done. The phone went dead for a minute then I hear a new voice on the phone asking "who is this?" I told him and it was the boss. He asked me where I was, I told him, he asked what my book looked like and I told him I was out of hours and he told me to get my 8 and call in the morning and I'd have a new dispatcher as mine just got fired for telling me to run ILLEGAL!
I drove for this company till 2008 when I became disabled!
He was in this to make money not pay it to the gooberment in fines because of falsified logs or piss poor equipment! It was legal or it was parked. With logs you were gone if you didn't or couldn't figure them out!
If the truck needed to be fixed it got fixed. If there was an HOS problem loads got rescheduled or repowered. All that with a small company with brains behind the front desk! They were in this to make money and still did.
That crapola you spouted was just that!
Crap!
Any company so stupid that they take money out of THEIR pocket to "spank" a driver for following the rules are completely full of bull and anyone willing to stay with a company like that if it's true, deserves what ever happens to them!
Every time I hear that "forced" or "punishment" line I almost fall down laughing my arse off!
Would YOU sit YOUR tuck for DAYS to punish a driver?
HELLO NO you wouldn't as would any company out there!
Losing over a dollar a mile plus to the truck to punish a 30 cent a mile driver because he told big dumb dispatcher NO?
Any of you who believe that crap, the Easter Bunny is due next month!
The only reason to sit a truck was someone in that office wasn't good enough or couldn't find freight to put on that thing!
Yes, they can threaten you, but now the ball is in the drivers court!
And that's ALL they can do is threaten!
And I'll say it again!
Are they holding a gun to your head?
Maybe a whip or tire billy to beat you with if you don't do what they say instead of following those FMCSA rules?
Ask those morons to send those orders to you either on that satellite system or to the truck stop on a fax or now as a text to your cell and listen to either the crickets in the back ground, the laughter or that click as they hang up on you!
Points for doing what a moron tells you to do?
I don't think so!
He isn't the one getting those points!
CSA doesn't apply to desk jockeys!
He can kiss my royal red caboose!
He can walk out that door and into anotherone and get hired because he doesn't have points to be able to answer a phone and work a windows application!
I have the whiskers to tell him so too! I used to be able to find a job anywhere I applied and because my resume and online application is still out there I still get calls and emails with an offer!
And that "I do not drive POS equipment" IS on that resume!
Parking a truck, losing money on that truck when it could be making money to punish a dime a dozen driver? LOL
Oh yeah! Lets all go to the poor house because a real driver has a pair big enough to tell me no and demand that we protect him, other drivers and the public, not to mention the company from what could become a multi million dollar law suit because we were cheap arses and didn't get something fixed!
Me? I'd be out of that truck so fast they wouldn't even see the tail lights of my bike or pickup as I pulled out of their yard!
An old saying we had went like this.
"I was looking for a job when I got this one!"
Now the mantra is "I'm so scared I'll do whatever they tell me to do when it threatens my 25 cent a mile job!"
I guess having a pair isn't a requirement in trucking anymore.Lonesome Thanks this. -
Well, since the easter bunny is coming next month i guess ill tell him to come and see you cause your either on something that requires narcotics or you actually believe that every company out there is by the book...
i guess you can beat me and the THOUSANDS of other drivers who had the same crap handed to them .. and yes, when you have a few trucks in the same area and a few have to sit, guess who sits , the ones who wanted to run legal ...
wheather your holucinations or just down right disbelief leads you to believe that alll companies out there are by the book, maybe you need to go to a truck stop oince in awhile and talk to a few drivers and see how it has been since you been off the road ....
not ever company is fulll of sunshine and rainbows ...
one company and i know you will think its crap again, well, go ahead and check out the awesome by the book Werner Enterprises. They have an account in PA with Lowe's. One of the stores they run to with lowe's is on flatbush ave in Brooklyn, Ny. Look that up, then go ahead and look up the rules for driving a commercial truck on flatbush with a 53ft trailer, its ILLEGAL, but then again, how would I know this and you don't . Maybe your good drugs will give you the knowledge that maybe it isn't but it is and YES, they know it and YES, they still send drivers there. The local NTPD stated that they will look away until an accident happens being the drivers fault or someone else's ...
Reason why I know this is because I was on that account when i went to werner to see what the hype was about ... I found that out about the law with a sleeper trailer, told them i didn't want to run that account anymore and they went back into my file, and found something from 2 yrs ago that i mistakenly forgot about and fired me for it... mind you it was 5 months after i had went to werner ..
but according to you, the thousands of drivers and I who experience this crap everyday need to be beaten with a tire Iron, ill tell you what, next time i am in your area, how about you come and beat me with that tire iron ... -
and oh, by the way, for your info, the DAC and CSA can ruin a drivers record as you may know if your narcotics hasn't interfeerd with your thinking again ... like i said not all companys are sunshine and rainbows, there are companies out there who will put crap on a dac to stop a driver from going somewhere else weather you like it or not, it happens and it happens alot .. but then again, maybe in your world it dont .. what color is the sky in your world by the way ... i am sure ALL drivers out here will want to live in that fantasy world that you are living in where the companies are all perfect.. but i guess until you give us drivers directions on how to get to your world I am positive that we are just going to be stuck here in this world that we call REALITY !! You can respond anyway you like, but be informed now, I am leaving to go back on the road here in reality world and wont be back for 7 weeks cause that is the only way to earn 3 to 4 days off with some companies that are not in your world yet ,.,,,
