yea they suck to work for. low pay bad miles. bad treatment. trucks always breaking down. and there full of lies. everything is drivers problem not theres. there lease program is a huge scam. stay away from these people. they only care about money. and consider your money as company money. and want you to pay for everything. they truely are a bad company to work for. oh and you can't carry food with you in the truck. so you spend $250 a week paying for cheap bad truckstop food. yes.... so I agree with op. you don't believe me. work for them. you'll see the real truth about them.

$250 on truckstop food you must be nuts! Just because you spend that much doesn't mean company has to cover you food bills. No one said u have to spend that much

..so, where'd you get that one from? I do believe Celadon encourages you to carry food with you on the truck, ESPECIALLY during the winter months. I just wish MREs weren't so expensive. :(

I agree with you. Most companies tell you to pack a winter emergency kit with you. That would also be common sense but as well all know majority of people these days have none of that.

do people just not have basic survival skills and common sense anymore? Even when i didnt have an invertor and a plug in cooler i kept a regular igloo in the passneger seat iced down with drinks and cheese and sandwhich goods and I never ever hit the road without a supply of canned goods and basic stuff that is easily made in the truck. I later started keeping a can of sterno and a cooking stand and a pot so i could cook soup and stuff when i was stopped when i didnt feel like using my little 12 volt stove or was in an emergency. Always had 1-2 gallons of water as well. seems people are just plain flat out losing their survival instinct these days. The day you see me booting a $250 a week habit at the truck stops will be the day you have seen it all.

did you ever read where i said that companies should have to cover cost of food??? No. just stated the truth and getting emotional feed back. which means you don't know very much about the topic. like i said, you work for them and you will find out the real truth.

Well what I was saying is that too many people spend $$$ like it grows on trees then want to blame everyone else for the inept ability to manage their $$$. What would be nice is if people what start learning something called personal responsibility and take accountability for their own actions!! More times than not these days when someone is whining about spending some much $$$ and not making enough they want to blame the company! Try using a budget, it does work!

I do believe a company will let u have a 12v cooler in the truck with you. U can easily stock food in those on the road. Just by having one of those in the truck u can cut half of that $250 your spending.

Anyone who thinks about or even signs a lease purchase or owner operator contract without first getting the contract and running the numbers in a business plan is a complete idiot. I have no sympathy for them nor do I care about their whining. A business plan does not guarantee success, but, it does help someone look at the realistic numbers. Those people deserve the title of "Steering wheel holder" and nothing else.

    BPD3 Thanks this.
