Those lunch box cookers, I've seen from $29 to $32 in t/s.
I just got one of the last two from the pilot on I-5 ext 263 in OR.
They were on sale for $19 so I snagged it.... I am thinking about going back in and grabbing the other one too.....

This morning, I was "HATING" life... I am setting in my truck, a truck backs in next to me and he gets out and goes inside. I hear a noise that sounds like someone is peeing out side my window and I look over to see a woman in the truck rinsing out a coffee pot. A few minutes later here somes the guy back and then I start smelling it!
Fresh brewed coffee, and bacon!
A few minutes later they are eating, bacon and eggs and washing it down with fresh brewed coffee.....
And I am having a cup of TSC (Truck Stop Coffee) and a protein bar for breakfast. -
LadyK, you need to hurry up and get off your trainer's truck and fix me breakfast! lol
truckerswifey916 and spuddatruckdriver Thank this. -
So get a coffee pot...

A good friend of mine runs OTR he said one of his best purchases was a coffee pot.

Don't leave home without mine. Coffee every morning, like I want it, and saves me $$$$.

I was in the restaurant/catering business for 20 years and have had to cook on every cooking surface, in every conceivable configuration you can imagine. All cooks/caterers cheered when induction stoves hit the market. I noticed that Burton makes a 12V induction stove! Granted, you can't plop food in it and keep driving. You would need to stop and prepare a bit, but these suckers are awesome. They heat up quickly and don't require replacement butane! Most cookware works on them, unlike when they were first introduced. I know $150 is a huge investment, but I guarantee searing a steak or boiling liquids VERY quickly would make you all very happy.
No, I have NO affiliation, lol. I just love to cook and eat! -
The only drawback to induction is the sheer level of power required to power one. Many companies wont let inverters big enough. I wish I could have an induction burner, but will have to settle for my butane.

See, there I go showing how GREEN I am
So, the 12V would suck a lot of power? Bummer. I used to teach cooking classes at a tiny bistro in NY , we used the butane babies. Thet really do work well.
This may be silly, but I'm going to recommend a great cookbook called A Twist of the Wrist by Nancy Silverton(she's a restaurant owner in LA.)She wrote a book about how to prepare quality, perhaps "high end" food by using jarred, cannned, boxed and bagged items. I think just a few of therecommended items added to your "pantry" might make some really great, inspired dishes!
