i didnt notice--but usually there is a sign in const zones for trucks to keep right--sometimes left if it is the crappy lane--but usually right---maybe the driver saw that sign and moved back
i kinda think both drivers were a bit quick to jump the gun--
at least nobody was hurt--made a funny video

Both are clearly at fault I say and they didn't ask for the state police help even after the state police offered wonder why could it be they didnt want to find it so they can say it was all the hit and run truckers fault and the fact that the cop was wrong wont come out

Maybe they were both in left lane and both decided to move over but the cop moved faster but before the driver had time to react...

Gotta love the overload of sensationalism in that piece. "Left a trail of destruction in its path...", "Sent a Santa Fe police officer to the hospital..."
"...hitting the squad car and continuing to race.."

"and continues BARRELING!!! down I-25 leaving a trail of distruction" leave it to the media. looks to me like the cop zigged when he shoulda zagged, but his badge puts him above the law so naturally the truck is 100% at fault.

To me, I watched the video a few times, it seems the cop is at fault there. He should've slowed down, let the truck change lanes, and then he himself change lanes. But naturally, it'll be blamed on the truck driver because that's how it always is. Cops are never at fault for anything like what happens in the video.

Watch the video closely and see if you can see where the white line for the right lane is. It looks to me like there isn't one for a ways, making the driver think that the center line was marking the edge of the right lane. Then the white line on the right starts up again, he realizes he's partway into the left lane and moves back into his lane that he never really left. Meanwhile the cop is partway on the shoulder trying to pass on the right the whole time.

I keep watching this again and again. I think I was definitely wrong about the trucker moving back over to the right as someone pointed out.

Something I did also seem to notice though is that when the camera moves up past the trailer and even past the rear axles, if you look at the turn signal on the side of the cab you can see that it is on as he is merging back to the right. So I can agree with Kajidono on what he said and maybe the trucker (who should have looked into his mirrors to see what was going on) didnt notice the cop moved right after he was in the left lane.

    Just another note.
