I've actually had fair responses to being "hung out there." You can tell when it's being done and so can others. When I had a CB in the truck, I've heard other truckers cussing out the driver doing the hanging. So I never really get "forced" into dropping speeds to get back in line.

Having no radio sucks now, though.

I just got to the Atlanta terminal...and after 20 min of looking for a place to park this t-call, i finally just stuck it at the end of one of the rows. I notice, coming out of the truck wash, a company volvo with headlights and foglights on. blinding the F out of me. I jump on my CB and say, "driver, why do you need your fog lights on in the yard? Mind cutting them off so i can see?" headlights and fogs were clicked off in a few seconds.

i really want to know why drivers have them on while on the yard? why have them on period?? this is more than just a thorn in my side.....maybe i need to see a shrink....LOL

Hey driver of truck 307546, just want to say thank you for being so inconsiderate of other drivers, for having a dog on the truck (being a company truck, and from the looks of your age, aren't granfathered in to have a pet on a company truck) that just will not shut the F up its barking. Dont know if you're in the truck or not, but if you are, i dont know how you can sleep with a dog barking like that.

Just wanted to say thank you for intrupting my sleep, and forcing me to move just to get away from your annoying dog....so i can get a diecent nite sleep. Do other drivers a favor....park in a manner to keep your dogs barking from annoying other drivers. if on a swift yard, you find a nice little corner. if in a truck stop, you nose into a parking spot.

i'll be forwarding your truck number to my DM in the morning.....

here's an update....driver was inside. now that he's back....the dog is quiet. oh but wait...now i have to put up with the driver chain smoking and his smoke wafting into my sleeper.....WTF??!!!! i'm about to go postal....

maybe he hopes his dm will send out a sniper team to rid the world of another chain smoking dog owner. or, since pets are forbidden in swift company trucks (would you want to be assigned a truck that smells like asstray and dog piss?), his dm can find smoker's dm and HE can do something about it.

Some months ago....parked at one of our operating centers, sound asleep in the bobtail area. All of a sudden....several blasts of the air horn on the next truck. Initially, I ignore it...maybe hung his glasses on the pull and make a mistake. But a couple of minutes later, again....blasting away.

I get decent, scramble out of the sleeper only to see two KIDS playing in the otherwise-unmanned bobtail. Kids...about 8 to 10 years old. Just as one of them reached for the air horn again, they saw me (and heard me). They retreated to their sleeper.

I went into the building and had the driver paged. He knew I was ticked before he got there. I could have gone on and on about why he left two kids unattended in his unit, but my blood pressure was elevated enough.

Almost as bad was the driver who backed in next to me at the back of one of our other OCs. Radio just going (heavy bass, of course!)....oh, and the lot was only half-full. I didn't even screw with it....I moved. He was watching me and probably wondering why....clueless moron....
