Not all phones can be tethered. Att like to disable that feature. You can go to pdanet and tether on the web. Check if your phone can run these programs.

I keep a P-38 on my keychain for emergencies and have several spares as well. I use the Swing-A-Way can opener as my main opener.

Keep up the good work Bluebonn. Sounds like you are off to a very good start.
As for your battery issues, I suggest that you start your truck up every few hrs and let it idle till engine is warm. It sounds like you may have a bad battery or two... It will suck to wake up every few hrs, but it beats waiting for a jump in the morning. It would be great to idle all night long, but then you'll end up in trouble for idling too much.

When something like this is going on, send a message to your DM saying why you are idling. Then idle the truck. It is a bigger safety issue to be driving tired from getting up every few hours to start the truck. If your DM fusses about it, remind him or her that they really don't want you driving while exhausted...nor does that DM want to be responsible for a $150 service call for a jump.

You should be fine. Unless you make up excuses to idle and do it all the time.

no...go ahead and keep that engine off. after a few jumps, and forking out $150-200 per service call, someone will be asking "why is this truck getting a third jump in as many days?" Then when they ask you, you can tell them why, and nobody wants to fix it.

they'll get the picture faster that way than sending in a message saying you're idling the truck.

Well I let it run most of the night. I am going to try and not do it tonight and see if it happens again.

Yesterday and today where tough days. I get up to Save Alot and have to hire a lumper. Hmm how do ya do that? Well I happened to figure it out with the lumper service. Pulled in there at 8PM and appointment was not until 12:15AM

So I play around in the truck until they call me. I guess I should have been sleeping but I figured I will be unloaded in an hour or so. Well 4AM come rolling around and I finally went to bed. Got woke up at 6AM and they are finished.

Still tired went up to the Pilot and parked and grabbed me some more sleep until the qualcomm started beeping around 9AM. Load picks up East of Canton,Ohio and has to be in Milton,PA by 7PM the same day. Total miles 400

Hmm I think I can get it there on time. Wrong by the time I was ready to roll it was 9:30AM. I got to the shipper at 12PM CST and forgot about the time change and that really messed me up.

Plus in the preplan they said load is hot. get it there ASAP. Then they would message me and ask me what time are you going to be there. Well I had to stop and get fuel and then scale the load so I did a mac 22 and said I will be there at 8PM.

So as I am rolling I get a pre-plan that picks up 50 miles from where I am at currently(at dock) and it delivers in Arkansas on Wednesday morning at 8:30AM. Dummy me accepts it without noticing the delivery time. I read the wrong line and thought it was anytime up to 12AM.

So once I figure this out I call and get them to remove the pre-plan or change the time to later that night. I really cannot see how I would do this. why they where unloading me last night I had to get a full ten that way I had enough hours to run the load I just brought up to Milton.

After I turned down the pre-plan the qualcomm beeps and says pre-plan changed so maybe they changed the time and I can still run it. That would put me at 3100 miles for the week

I thought they where suppose to take it easy on greenhorns? I want the miles but feel I still need to get better at managing my time before they start cramming hot loads and so on on me.

Oh well I guess I will learn as I go. What's up with these grocery places why they take so long to get me UN loaded? I rushed all the way up here just to sit and sit and sit.

My first two weeks have been fun and lots of learning. Looking forward to the coming weeks. Hope they change the time on that load so I can run with it and I will be happy. Sitting at dock and hoping they don't take all night to get me UN loaded.

OH forgot got some bad Mac 23 directions tonight. Told me to turn right at first stop sign then go under low clearance bridge but you will fit just stay next to building on right??????

Turned right and wala I am put onto a little two lane country road that finally ends up in a residential neighborhood. Now what to do?? Turned on my GPS and it saved my ###.

I would have been extremely lost if I did not rely on the GPS this time. :biggrin_25510:

I always forget the dang macros, especially sending 10 before 6am (I know the most important one) and loaded call. Sounds like you're just tired bluebonn, I need to slow down and think things through.

Grocery DCs are notoriously slow. Use Macro 40 to request pay for lumpers. You should get either an express code or an advance on your Comdata card for the lumper.

When you get a message the preplan has changed, that means the PP was taken off your truck. That's all. Most likely, they will find someone around who can run it and shoot you a different PP.

IP: I am soooooo happy to be out of grocery! And you better believe it the world revolves around me. :yes2557::biggrin_25522:
