Thanks guys!
I'm not the type to call in and cause him to get fired but after thinking about it today and how close i came to having the "big one" I kind of wish i would have got the truck number.
I know all drivers make mistakes and that time of the morning is the hardest to stay awake but it about cost some lives...
All i can say is WHEW! that was close but i can keep my perfect record of 27 years accident free.
If i ever get taken out i hope it is of my own doing and nobody else is involved.
Schnieder put me in the median!

Nice job on keeping the greasy side down.
I know how you feel. I had the exact same thing happen with a May truck. After the scare, we managed to raise him on the radio. Seems he fell asleep for a sec... I kept him on the radio chatting to a nearby rest-stop. Of course, I need the rest stop to pull my seat cushion out of my nether regions. -
EZ Money, Great job, not wrecking. 27 years paid off, being able to avoid a wreck. Always on the watch for the unexpecting. Ill bet that driver was asleep at the wheel. If the air horn did not wake him, He was sound asleep. Once again fine work, by a veteran pro.EZ Money and rocknroll nik Thank this.

Thanks Wargames,
I held it straight and come back on the pavement real easy...no over correction.
He had to be sleeping to pull such a bone head move.
I was out looking at my trailer tires before dark and i can see where they scuffed the guard rail...#### that was close!
Good thing i only had 3 pallets left in the trailer. If i were heavy things may have turned out much worse.
You can tell a drivers intention sometimes by just glancing at their steer tire.In this case all i seen was a windshield of orange.
Home on the couch now...the truck gets serviced in the morning and i go back out Sunday.
I need a break after that run.
Wargames and rocknroll nik Thank this. -
you gotta forget about NOT dropping a dime on someone....had you crashed, would you, could you be sure a witness would have supplied the numbers to call...???
would you depend on the company doing a "search" for drivers in that area..???
you gotta think NUMBER 1 from now on, and if a driver gets FIRED, so be it......
hold no shame or regrets for dropping a dime on someone, it's survival of the fittest and if some putz cannot keep it between the lines or with in reasonable speeds and not drive up your arse, then drop that dime...it will side line YOU for a long time before you are back on the road again, should they hit you and run off, or even if they stop, the mounds of paper work just ain't worth it....
you stand to LOSE all you WORKED FOR over the years...
i say, let thier company DO ALL THE PAPERWORK to FIRE THEM.....
screw'em i say, if they cannot drive, or get their rest, or nearly force me off the road, i'm on the cell phone NOW ######......and if he gets fired, well then that's one less jerk on the road.....till the next batch come on out here.
think about yourself, your family and your business FIRST, before you have any compassion for an A-hole.......
this is also another way we can "police ourselves" BEFORE we get EVEN MORE self righteous citizens safety groups or MORE INTRUSION from the Federalies.....Last edited: Mar 3, 2011

Had a Schneider driver do the exact same thing one time when I was in a pickup bringing a bunch of fireworks up from Missouri. We went to pass him and for no reason he intentionally veered at us, forcing us completely off the road. About 20 miles later he exited the Interstate, we were behind him because we weren't about to try to pass him again. I wanted to follow him in and teach him some manners because as far as I was concerned the fool had tried to kill us with his truck. But the other guys I was with wouldn't go for it because of all the fireworks we had.
