I look at the three day rule a little differently, over the past two weeks out I spent 5 (full) days waiting to deliver or pick up, true the truck was under a load at most times, but still wasn't rolling and making money. therefore, why should I have to take the truck to the yard, and clean it out for a weeks vacation, ( cause they will assign it to someone else while you are gone ), and lose 2 of my 5-7 days in travel to home. just not a reasonable explanation of the trucks not making money.Last edited: Feb 5, 2011
delta5 Thanks this. -
I just left Butler about 3 weeks ago. I really dont have any complaints about them or the way they treated me. I had a VERY NICE truck, and the people were great. My first few weeks were ok. They kept me rolling for the most part. The last few weeks sucked bad. All I was doing was sitting at places waiting on freight for free. Im talking about 10-15 hours at a time, with NO DETENTION PAY. My last trip back to the KC yard consisted of a 30 min drive to Columbus Ohio from where I took a break. I arrived at shipper at 11:30 am to make my noon appt. I did not get out of there until almost 1am the next morning. Thats BS.. Their pay package sucks big time. They start you at .23 cpm plus .09 cents per diem. Thats only .32 cpm. You get .02 cpm bonus if you run 12000 miles in a month. They do not pay detention at all! That is a sucky pay package. Throw in a strict E-logbook, you arent going to make any money if you sit all day at customers for free. I hated to leave, but Im not there to babysit trailers for free...

I'm starting to get fed up real quick with my routes. Tired of running constantly back and forth from Wisconsin to pa, NY. Had me on a load to Alabama but pulled me right back off and gave me another I80/90 run to where else? You guessed it, Wisconsin. Starting to rethink my decision to drive for Butler. No complaints about the company, just the routes they keep me on, with 300(supposed) trucks, somebody's getting the better loads.

Maybe me? They gave me that hanover to alabama run. On my way to manchester pa now from wisconsin.

wi to pa, ny thats easy running where in ny do they go

No updates??

I've been waiting on updates as well. Too quiet. What's going on Butler drivers ??

They must be too busy sitting around, not making any money there... Thats why I left...
