I saw that trucker. I was just saying in the last post that was one of the reasons I started this thread. So I could find out what others had gone through as well

you may be urinating more times, but how much is voiding out of you..??

go see your doctor, but i am hoping he sends you to a urologist.

you could have an enlarged prostrate, which in many instances is hereditary....ask your dad, grandpa, any brothers your dad has, any sons of those brothers.

if found to be an enlarged prostrate and not taken care of, you will be in tears any day now as the enlargement will get worse and "close up" the urethra...

your doctor would most likely in this instance, put you on flowmax, once a day to start, then twice a day soon after...

after a few years of this, you will need a surgical procedure.....(as the flowmax can no longer control the growth of the prostrate...)

    then no more meds......

i speak from experience.....heed warnings to go see a urologist.....NOW.

cuz you ain't gonna wanna hear the procedure i had to go through.....

A UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) is normally kind of sudden onset. Symptoms are usually mild, but annoying: frequent, sudden urges to urinate, when you finish going, it feels like you have to strain and go some more. Sometimes you will feel a general irritation, but that's unusual because there are very few pain/pressure receptor nerves in the urinary tract from the bladder opening down.

Guys can get UTIs too, from some of the same causes as women: too much sugary beverages, not enough fluids to name a couple that drivers are frequently guilty of. Treatment is a course of antibiotics.

Frequent thirst and urination (really bad) is the first sign of high blood sugar. Your insulin levels are low and glucose builds up in your blood. The body's reaction to this is to remove it with the kidneys, then trigger the thirst reaction. This is how i found out that I was diabetic. after three days of this, my vision went blurry while i was driving and I barely made it home. That was caused by glucose backing up in the blood vessels of my eyes. This could be a prostate problem too. Its time to go to the doctor and get the Cold Finger Of Injustice exam...

Yep. Sorry I didn't get back sooner. It turned out to be a urinary tract infection which I got antibotics for. Did get a wake up call though... time to get healthy, as my sugar level was a little high. I'm not taking any chances... don't need to become a diabetic

    Hey Looneytoons
Glad you got to the docs and got a proper diagnosis. Most men do not feel symptoms of UTI like women do. Just remember MANY things can cause the symptoms you descibed -yes even at your age=Prostate was the first thought I had. I did not think the diabetes as much as you said your last FBS was 100 and YES Hg A1C is a MUCH more accurate measure of your diabetic status over a three month period. On aveage most people are not going to see signs of HYPERGLYCEMIA or high sugar levels such as thirst or frequent urination (due to the excess drinking) until sugars are much higher like >300. Your body is an amazing thing and when your sugar is that high it will make you thirsty so you drink-which will help to dilute or flush out (urinate) some of the sugar out of your system.

At your age if you have something like you described-as most on here said -call your doctor or go to Urgent care. Most ALL of us don't want to be sick and don't have the time to be sick and HOPE that we get better on our own- I am not taking a cold or some stomach bug- we all generally wait too long on our symptoms and then find out in hindsite that if we had only called someone sooner...........

glad it was something simple for you LT!!!!

Funny, I was just thinking about you a few days ago and wondering how you were doing.

Glad to hear it was nothing more serious. Take care of yourself and hope the antibiotics take care of it post haste.
