Gluten and soy free? I likes that idea. Thanks. -
I use the JBN Protein+--and I buy the vanilla flavor--only because it mixes well with anything I like to add--usually fruits--have a couple of friends--thet get 3-4 flavors because they don't like to mess with adding things--so they get different tastes--There is a store in eastern Pa (allentown)in a KMART Plaza I get the truck into and buy--but I think there are others--I think there is a store locator on their website--or you might want to call--the place I get it is a health food--smoothy store--and the folks were great--they mixed up 4-5 samples first time to help me decide. Hope that helps

We sell a TON of different ones at Amazon.outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
I totally agree with you!! However in a pinch - they work. I try for the Whey Isolate as the first ingredient - then maybe whey concentrate. I try to stay away from the casin if at all possible. Syntrax makes great tasting proteins and you can get them from Vitacost. They have many different flavors: coffee, tea, fruity, sweet and an 'unflavored' to put in other foods to boost the protein content.outerspacehillbilly Thanks this.

Over the last few years I've trained as a bicyclist and finished double centuries (200 miles) and the Death Ride (going over 5 passes in the Sierra Nevadas south of Lake Tahoe). I found that I needed to supplement my protein intake during training. I had really good luck with Goatein - similar to the whey-based protein powders, but made from goat milk. The company that makes it descends into quackery sometimes (read their ads and you'd swear that if everyone only used their products we'd have world peace) but this particular product gave me really good results, and my ex-wife (Japanese, and lactose intolerant) could use this as well with no problems.
Downsides? The stuff is expensive, and doesn't really disolve well in water. I made smoothies with fresh or frozen berries, bananas, plain yogurt and Goatein as a meal replacement (but you will need a blender!).

Edit - you can usually only find stuff from this company at natural health food stores, Whole Foods (aka Whole Paycheck) or online - Amazon is good.
