Yeah parking depends on the truck stop and the way the cowboys drive in that particular one ,always try to park where i think it's going to be safe and thats mostly in the back. turn lights on if there alot of shadows or raining whatever going to help that other driver out . The 5th wheel mostly depend on weight even though had a serious dicussion with a dot trooper, which he didn't like to far back pass center.

OK I asked the fifth-wheel question cause I have seen more than a few trucks with the fifth wheel all the way back.. mainly flat beds, but a few vans. I know loads can be deceiving, but the flatbeds didn't look all that heavy.

Typically if you see a 5th wheel all the way back on a flat bed(or any trailer)
you'll probably notice it is a spread axle--and most spreads have either a 24"(preferred) or 30" Pin setting

Why is it I can park out in the south 40 and not have a truck within 10 spots of me in any direction and the next truck in the lot needs to park right next to me? Just one of my pet peeve's

Big trucks are like flies...where ya have one, soon you'll have many! It never fails, you park in some out of the way spot somewhere; and it's like the first truck that goes by and sees you stopped has to pull in and park too!
