Hey wedge sorry to hear about your luck. Hope things turn around for you soon. I'm talking with Conway tl and they told me they hire within 30 days of graduation or you have to get 6 months of experience. If you decide to do a company school I think millis would be great.

    Hey Wedge
Boy that sucks about Central and all that with your clocking ticking......

I wish I could suggest a company but that I will leave to those that know way better than I! (and thanks to you all for helping Wedge with that-that is what makes TTR such a great place!)

I will continue to keep everything crossed and say prayers for you!!!

    Hello everyone. :biggrin_25511:

I checked with my driving school today and they do offer a 70 hr refresher course. I suppose that's good news. Of course it will all depend on whether or not the company I go with will accept a refresher course.

The doctors with voc.rehab are ordering up an MRI for Friday. They suspect there may be some mechanical problem that's causing my hearing loss, possibly something that can be fixed. That would be wonderful if it can be repaired, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Once they have the results of the MRI, I can move toward getting new hearing aids.

    In other news:

This afternoon, I saw a tractor trailer, driving at excessive speed on I75 south of Atlanta (in heavy rain), jack-knife his rig today, right in front of me (so to speak). Trailer pushed him right around. No damage to the rig, but I'm sure he needed to change his shorts.

The interesting thing was, now that he has all the lanes blocked, he can unscrew himself with a simple alley back, but the impatient drivers kept driving around the front of his tractor in the breakdown lane and on the shoulder, trying to be "less" inconvenienced. Finally, after a few of us blocked the way so these asteroid orifices couldn't continue to exercise their 2 digit IQs, the driver was able to back up and then pull his rig over to the side.

Talking about how a semi can jack-knife is one thing, seeing it happen in front of you, is quite another thing. Watch your speed in wet weather and make sure you turn off your Jake brake.

    Thanks for reading.

Funny thing here is that Millis was the first company I applied to, but I didn't follow upon the application and was not selected for their training program (they were getting 300 apps a day).

They did tell me to re-apply in 6 months. Never figured to be doing that.

I wouldn't mind calling and asking but it might be quicker/easier to call yourself using the number xlsdraw provided. I am in class from 7 to 4:30ish every day so trying to get a hold of recruiting during the hours they are there wont be easy for me lol.

Edit: Oops didn't see the last page when I responded :S

I'll call Christine when I'm set to go. The vocational rehab thing needs to be finished now that I'm home. Once that's done, I'll figure out what to do.
