Lol no its was funny when I thought about it !!! I went to hagerstown lastnight and this mofo took my dolly lol I was mad and looking for him . Why would u take another drivers dolly when u came up with your own ????? I did a turn lastnight and tool a 53' home , I also heard that my terminal will be hiring 10 more drivers for the city . Goodluck up in harrisburg what happened did it snow or something lastnight.
-
No snow or ice. There were 3 of us from CLT laid over there, the terminal kept sayin call us back in 30min. Finally we called central and they said grab empties and head home. Dispatch was so crowded we called central back and they put our trips in the kiosk so we could dispatch ourselves. Couldn't even find 2 empties apiece so we each grabbed 1 plus a dolly and rolled outa there. Could hardly move on the yard!!!
-
Yeah its mess up there !!! Did they give u the map to show u where you are suppose to drop or pick up your trailer lol ...
-
I saw the map afterwards, didn't make much sence anyway. Zones? what a joke? that person must be a recent engineering graduate. We had people in ATL that took hours looking for trls and ended up running out of hours and had to get a motel or bobtail home...lol

Can someone give me an idea what a driver at freight starts at for wage? I just started working on the dock and want to get into driving when I can.
-
It's different in each region. My guess is around 20hr where your at and 1 buck a year for 3 yrs. could be more there though

I've been registered on Fedex's site for around a year and a half. A few days ago, I was notified by email of a road position openning at a terminal near me. I've been hesitating to answer because I've been told all issues with the merger of freight and national haven't been sorted out yet. I am working, I'm relatively happy where I'm at, but I'm always on the lookout for something better. Would I be making a mistake taking this position? What would I be getting into?
-
Depends where your at. Do you mind working the dock? some drive an hour or two, work the dock all night, then drive back. Some sit by the phone, like myself. I've got 976mi this week. Can you live on that?
-
I'm actually a hub driver and required to work the dock, so thats not much of an issue. However, there are nights where I will have more than one run or have to via through another terminal on the way out. But my major concern if I were to take this position is whether or not I will have a job 6 months or a year down the road. From what guys I've been talking to that have worked at Fedex and been laid off have been telling me, that may not be the case. One has told me that is old boss has been calling him asking him to come back and he won't because he's not sure he will still have a job when they get all the issues sorted out.
