    Stomps on pack!
I have another shot at CDL school. I'm going for it. However; the freakin smokes ARE NOT going with me!:biggrin_25516:

To heck with this! I'm 38, strong and only got a one year DOT card due to elevated BP. I'm mostly muscular and have just a lil body fat. But I have high BP...IM DONE!
In about a week and a half..I have to take (yet another) DOT physical. I WILL get that two year card! lol!:yes2557:

    Whew--I feel better.

    /end rant

I'm 45 overweight by about 60lbs, smoke a pack a day since I was 15 and I'm so far in perfect health, (except for the 60lbs) cholesterol is perfect even though I like fast food occasionally. I watch every bite that goes in my mouth. Blood pressure is normal. I'm not saying I'm a smoking advocate. I wish I had never started. I plan on another attempt at quitting. The blood pressure problem could be because of other issues other than just smoking. There was a kid just the other day in good shape (smoker or not I don't know) anyway. he had just made the winning shot on his High School basketball game and dropped dead from an enlarged heart, a teenager! Just sayn' bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. When your number is up, your done regardless of lifestyle. Good luck quitting, it's a horrible habit.

Good luck on cold turkey. I'm not sure if you can take this pill per DOT ( I don't see why you wouldn't be able to) but Chantix is the way to go. You take it while you continue to smoke. After about 3 to 14 days you realize you don't need the cigerettes. The chantix blocks your nicotine receptors so that annoying physical withdrawl you never go through because you are actually smoking when you go through the withdrawl. If you slip up and try a smoke don't worry. After you quit for a day while taking Chantix smokes will taste absolutly horrible. Anyways GOOD LUCK

I try to quit every once in awhile. Then one of my brothers annoys me and it turns into a bad case of "Give me my cigarette and no-one gets KILLED!"....

Read all warnings and keep an eye out for warning signs but I believe in that stuff. And know I don't have stock in Pfizer. LOL

Correct. Chantix is no longer allowed by the DOT or the FAA. Too many potential very nasty side effects.
