Good luck on the cold turkey bikegoon! I am cutting down in preparation for quitting. Me and cold turkey don't mix well. Tried it a few times, and psycho B#### from hell about describes me and cold turkey! Not a pretty sight!:biggrin_2556:

My husband's doctor had prescribed the Chantix for him. I said no, that the DOT ruled against it. He had no clue and tried to totally ignore me, like I was crazy or something. When we got to the counter for the bill and the scripts, I promptly trashed that script. I have seen side effects he had due to some forms of steroids (back problem) and just had a real bad feeling about the Chantix as well. Not a big advocate of pills for everything, seems some of the treatments are worse than the actual problem.
Wish you much success in quitting, no matter the method.

I think willpower is the true pill. I hate smoking, just freakin hate it. It took me a DOT physical to see it though. Gonna change the diet as well.:yes2557::yes2557:

BG, watch the amount of caffeine you are taking in a day too. Some people are very sensitive to it. My husband is, he quit drinking pop, except for a decaffeinated one every once in a while and his Bp went way down.

Go for it! Willpower is the only thing that can do the trick completely. I'm getting a handle on my willpower. :biggrin_25524: Trying to anyway.
