No I don't work for Werner. I just used them as an example because that's what a recruiter told me. The company I work for pays higher than Werners average tho, so he's probably making just as much if not more than that. I know that his son has type 1 diabetes, which is why he works the hours that he does. I don't have anything against the guy personally, he's a nice guy, but it was so unsafe driving late at night, seeing parts of the trailer cross the line every once in a while and my trainer was sleeping is just scary. The last day I was with him, I couldn't even shift properly. I kept on missing gears all the time.
Maybe this was a bad career move. But, I will give it one more try, and make sure that I have great communication with the trainer. I talked to the safety director yesterday, and I said that I flat out won't lie on my logs. I'm sure everyone fibs on them every once in a while, but lying about half a day is something else, and doing it all the time. I can't remember half the time what the correct version of the story let alone make up some BS to a DOT officer.

read the op , he never said he was with Warner, he asked about them

A little fib on the log books is one thing, but you can only go so far. Lying about half a day is definitely too much.

OK, my question was answered. Can we hijack this thread now?
Wargames Thanks this. -

but how was the driving split?
is it that the 11 hours was too long for you?---that part comes with time
with 2 drivers in the truck--bumping off a 1/2 day isnt much--it should still give you lots of sleep time
but if you are tired--yank it over and have a nap---a hot load cools off really quick if it is upside down in the ditch
besides----if they wanted the load today---they are really going to want it tomorrow -
Have at it. Hijack away. lol When I see a post that I made that is several pages long I'm like "wow I made a really cool post". lol
Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I'll be going with another trainer. But, I flat out said that I want to run legal.
BTW this guy told me that he has had two trainee's this year. The first one didn't last 24 hours. I'm going to give it my all this time, and keep the ######## to a minimum. lol
[sarcasm] I'm sure this is the first time you ever heard this. [/sarcasm] I get paid once a year from my other job. I guess if I can last till October, I can buy my own truck. I wanted to buy one for years because I can haul so much more grain, save money on fuel, and then afford to sell grain to a corn processing plant (they pay at times .50/bushel more than where I go, and in a single axle straight truck the extra 30 miles would eat up all profit in fuel alone). To be honest I make enough money from my other job to live on. I just wanted to do this to keep busy, and make a little more money. *sigh* -
A while back I was driving for an O/O. He was driving from Fresno to Boston and told me over the phone, "I'll get there as soon as I can, I've been driving for 3 days straight without sleep" - LMAO.......
Like I told my last wife, I says, "Honey, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it's all in the reflexes." - Jack Burton....Lilbit Thanks this. -

I expected a lot of quit whining replies, but all truck drivers do is whine. lol I'm really shocked at the amount of people that said to just deal with it. Fatigued drivers kill about 4 times as many people as drunk drivers. Would you be okay with me drinking a 12 pack while driving? I guess that's why they have truckers bibles and truckers chapels. I guess it absolves you from any responsibility. I have a Jesus Fish on my truck, so I can drive a week straight.
If this was some sort of test it was a bad one. That's like pulling a kingpin release in a truck stop to make someone have a learning experience.CornerCarver, Hitman, truckerdave1970 and 5 others Thank this.
