While I agree--I do not see the appeal of so called reality shows--people seem to enjoy them. I think many of the folks here have posted some good points--I do feel there could be some educational value to this show.. I wonder though--have you as a producer--considered the comraderie angle? Not in the Smokey and the Bandit--us against them image--but how in so many instances--we actually do take time to help each other--how friendships are made and continued by 2 strangers sharing a late nite cup of coffee--I guess I am discussing more of the human element--It might not be as sexy as 4 housewives catfighting--but mightit make it easier for the viewer to relate to the characters? I know we can both cite examples where this has also been done--to a point---but what really hasn't been done in one form or another.
It might surprise you to know how much-intelligent--thought provoking dialogue can actually be found between 3-4 drivers of diverse backgrounds. Is it easier to find 5 drivers acting like 2 y/olds on the radio etc.? probably--but I have been out here a long time and relish in the opportunity to learn from and experience other people's ideas etc.
I guess I am saying there are some thought provoking opportunities for something like this--would it sell? Are these idea's sexy enough--that is for the EP types to debate--maybe I find things interesting that the general public doesn't? just a thought.
Good luck to you.

I'll second this. The motoring public needs to know how to drive around the big trucks too, and after what I've seen, they surly don't. Truck drivers have to be defensive drivers 24/7. Heck you can be sleeping and be knocked out of the bunk.
I'm all for it, if you are going to use it for educational purposes. And show people what these drivers go through every day, dealing with people that don't really deserve to be behind the wheel of anything.
And the cost to them, if something goes wrong.

I have mixed feelings about this. In a way, I want the public to see "real" trucking life, but in another way, we already have too many Burger King rejects out here. We dont need anymore of those types getting all excited about the trucking life...

Thats a great point...although with the economic plunge, everyone seems to have become a trucker

that's a road-rage, train wreck waiting to come to fruition.... -
why would a driver want to watch a tv scripted show, when he's living it daily...????
just to see that a dispatcher actually talks NICE...????
