chompi Thanks this. -
Pull up on a Cat Scale, and Have someone pull the pin, and you`ll see the weight diff.
-
Thanks......very good. I can imagine it's effects on WD now. Is it a pain to do; would wheel chocks be needed to accomplish this task?
Not even a driver here yet...........definite Wanna-be though in around 9 years. -
Just don't slide your tandems while on the scale!
chompi Thanks this. -
I used a scale at a company, in there yard, and would scale, then back off, pull the pin, lock the trailer brakes, slide them, lock them, then back on the scale. You are right, rocking the scale, will throw it all off, and throw me out.
Lilbit Thanks this. -
Yep, they tend to frown on sliding tandems on the scale!

Wargames Thanks this. -
There are "spread axle trailers" that you can slide one of the axles, not sure if you can close them all the way. Costco has them on the west coast.
-
all the Newbies should read this post, and take notes, It can save them money later. Learning how to distribute there freight and move the axles is very important.
I`ll ask a question, On the sread axles, how can you tell the difference on weight distribution? The proper settings on these spread axles? I really like this post, on how to slide your axles, to the proper weight settings. Every load is different, and you MUST have the axles set right. One of our drivers last week, got an overweight ticket Cost the company $800.00 I always have a theory, if you think your trailer has been overloaded, go to a Cat Scale, and weigh it. -
Yes, the Great Danes have wide holes. I was thinking that when I said 400 lbs.
