That sucks. Are you getting detention at least? I hear dispatch is usually good at getting those delays resolved. I am suppose to do my test drive tomorrow and if the paperwork makes it there, then my pysical and drug screen on wed. How is your truck? did you get a nice one?

Don't know about detention yet, however the truck has over 600000 miles on her and is in better condition than most trucks with less than 300000.

I have a spare $190...does that help? :biggrin_25514: Are they really paying $95/hour for those trucks Rhino? I might even leave balmy Florida for that kind of pay!

I'm glad to hear the recovery is going well! That is always tough when the little ones are going through health problems..............but it doesn't get much easier as the little ones get older. I hope her recovery continues to go well.

yes chesapeake gas and oil is paying $95 per hour for a tri axle to haul water for them... it is crazy the money they dish out... we have sat at a well sight for 8 hours with 50 other trucks just sitting there waiting to deliver water... i was told by a company man it takes millions to take a sight from nothing to a full production well and it pays for itself in a week once it starts production.....

Well I'm home. Got here at 11am after getting empty at 8am this morning in Orlando. Home till Monday morning. Well deserved time off. I have to call into dispatch Friday to get my load info for Monday. I spoke to Gary, he's empty and finished with his reset and headed down to Coachella CA after emptying out in Vegas.

I did a little figuring and I was gone 2 days short of 3 weeks and ran 10,200 paid miles since I left. That comes out to a little over 3400 miles per week. Very good for me, now It's time to enjoy the things I work for for the next 5 days.

Hey guys, just a quick hello from Sunny (and hot) California...just finished repositioning myself from my Vegas delivery this morning, they took me a day early over at Costco in LV. Now the trick is to get loaded a day early going back, right? Good luck with that! Actually Louie told me to call him tomorrow to see what's doin' - the original plan was to reload on Friday - we'll see if he can make his usual magic happen and move it up a day.

This run took me from Mountain Top to Denver, where I delivered yesterday morning. In and out in an hour in Denver, then on to the always beautiful Rocky Mountains heading west on 70. It's like Forest Gump's box of chocolates - U never know what you're gonna get.

45 and sunny when I began the climb - until Loveland Pass - 29 and recovering from an overnight snow shower. Just slushy with a little ice in spots, that's all - and with my 5k lbs in the trailer - no problems zipping through there. Cleared up after Vail, CO. What a beautiful town. If you have an extra $5 million or so, I highly recommend buying a home there.

Stopped in Parowan Utah last night, thinking I had all the time in the world until my Thursday delivery. But I left the TA at 7am MDT, gave Costco a call in Vegas and they said sure, come on in, but they stop receiving at 10am. Well, my GPS showed me arriving at 9:01am PDT - so I got there and was empty in 30 mins. Nice...

We had to say goodbye to our good friend Jim in safety last Friday - a hard thing to do. If any of you know him, you know what I mean. I thank him for all he did for me while there, and wish him only good things in the future. He's a great guy, and I know he'll be successful in his next gig.

Johnny, I'm happy you're home from your longggggg trip out to the NW and back. The best part of this job, for me at least, is when I pull into the driveway to see the family after being gone for a while. The worst is - u guessed it - kissing the wifey goodbye and hugging all 4 kids to tell them to behave, and take care of mommy while I'm gone. I think, and it's just my opinion, that truckers have the hardest job there is, next to the military - in terms of lifestyle.

Can I get an AMEN to that??? :)
