the people that pull them make more money and in turn pay more taxes and they use more fuel to pull them whice means more fuel tax.. from a states prospective what is not to like...
the few companies that use them are LTL so i don't think weight is a problem..
and they are just fine as far as safety i think anyways soo leave them they way they are -
I have never understood how it was considered safe to pull three pups or two 53 ft trailers...
truckerdave1970 Thanks this. -
do those drivers draw 3 paychecks for pulling 3 trailers???
do they make 3 times the money for pulling 3 trailers???
OF COURSE NOT !!!
THEY ARE BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. IF YOU OR I CHEATED THE TRUCKING COMPANY OUT OF THEIR MONEY, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN???Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
No,but there is different pay scale's for different configuration's.
And yes it does add up over the course of the year.
Triple's are more stable than double's,unless fed ex is pulling them.
truckerdave1970 and Passin Thru Thank this. -

Those Austrailian road trains are insane, can't believe they don't run much more power than we do here, makes our wimpy 80,000lbs seem like nothing for these trucks and makes you wonder how much they can really pull, sure must be fun to drive though!

Nothing about "safe" ... some outfits and cowboys would pull 6 trailers if they thought they could make a few extra bucks ...Marksteven Thanks this.
