I'm gonna steal a quote from a movie:

Now, having posted that, there is a line that common courtesy dictates that shouldn't be crossed.

The Westboro Baptist Church will answer to a higher court than man's in their own time.

As for me... My son is an Army reservist that has already done one tour in Iraq and may be deployed again before his term of service is up. I will answer to man's law if the westboro pukes show up at his funeral. I will do the best I can to "educate" them to the little fact that that actions have consequences.

That was where they went to after being in the city limits. My info was from a city cop at the staging area at the old Ramey grocery store. They had a legal permit in town but it was pretty much useless! 15 whole minutes with a stopwatch on them!
But good for you taking things in control down at the station! This is what happens when a community comes together to speak freely!
As I have said in many forums and on FB, they have a right to speak freely but who says they have to be heard! Or seen?

I was in the lead group of vehicles for the set up at the Jolly Mill site that went by about 30 minutes earlier.

Yes, the loons from the Westboro Baptist Church won their free speech rights case but their victory will soon be for not as legislation has been introduced that will put an end to their constant exhibitions of mental illness once and for all and will pass muster with the Supreme Court. There is similar law already on the books.

Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger introduced the "Safe Haven for Heroes Act" that will prohibit protests for 5 hours preceding a military funeral and 5 hours after. It also limits protests that do take place to 2,500 feet from the funeral.

Thank you Congressman Ruppersberger whoever you are! ½ mile away and 5 hours before or after will be the end of this news story and none-to-soon as my blood boils just hearing their name. If anybody deserves to be permanently institutionalized against their will it’s the members of that fruitcake church!

They have the right to protest.....but others have the right to block their view and the view of them, also to drown them out. Also, it's just common decency not to protest at the funeral. And it's pretty stupid as well, protest the deployment, protest congress but to protest at the funeral proves they're only seeking to hurt others.

May God show the mercy to them that they don't show to grieving families.

You rolled right by us at Yonkerville. Thank You Rollover for your participation in the funeral. While I respect the right of free speech I do not believe it gives them the right to play hate america music. Just in case anyone wonders they take the song God Bless the USA and the tune and it goes like this" God hates the USA etc etc. Should they ever appear in your area please remain peaceful. They are lawyers and look for opportunities to incite things. 4 women and 4 kids with signs that say God Hates America. God Hates Soldiers etc. Believe me it's not pretty to see 4 kids who look completely lost and embarassed but doing what they are told. Truthfully I feel sorry for them. I just can't fathom someone with that kind of hate and dislike. Anyway, Thanks Again!!

The reason they might protest an Amish funeral with their stupid homophobic speech is that the Amish do not worship the same way these idiots do! If you do not believe their way you are doomed to be either a gay person or doomed to hello!

I do not agree with Anonymous but for once I'm glad they took all their websites down and off line while they were talking on some TV show! It was funny as hello! And just checking but it's still down!

If they do show in PA I hope the community will do what needs to be done to hide these overzealous fanatics from them. The Amish will turn their cheek but WBC for some reason can't figure out with all the college education running in that family that the Amish aren't anywhere close to a homosexual society and they do not join the military and they lead a simple life.

WBC being the mental geniuses they are thought that President Regan had something to do with DADT as they think Bush 1 did! hence their stupid protests of Mr Regans funeral with their stupid gay posters! See the mentality in this home church? There has to be a little inbreeding going on in there!

Then it turns out that Shirley Phelps the lead lawyer and daughter of Fred the leader of this misbegotten and misguided clans wedding and date of birth of their first born do not make for a very Christian marriage as in she "might" have been a "little" pregnant when she walked down the aisle! It also says that there HAD to be some drunkenness going on as what man even a trucker would even think of well impregnating that woman! Or he just has no taste in women!

Anyway their holier than tho attitude and having the misfortune to be stupid enough to watch that scary women is just a wonderful thing that she and the family think we are all wrong because we aren't un in arms about that DADT rule for the military! As far as I'm concerned if anyone wants to fight for my country I could care less which way they swing!

The group could end up in serious trouble if someone took action against their protests and caused harm to one of the children during a counter protest. I would think that Child endangerment laws would kick in considering the circumstances. It's good that the decent citizens who work to protect the funerals, are peaceful and set an example. It's to bad that a small minority like that gets sooo much media attention. Let's ship the WBC congregation to Iraq or
Afghanistan. Drop em right in the middle of the country.
