Best of luck. My experience has been great.
So sorry about your Mom. I still have both of my parents and I realize how fortunate I am. I have no idea how I will deal with that when the day comes. -
I agree. Seems it would be real easy to get fat and unhealthy. I guess the key is to pack your own food.

My Mom passed away very unexpectedly while I was on the road in '04. Was on the phone with my wife when she was discovered. Never got to say "see you later" either.
Glad you've got things figured out and will be back doing what you love. Good luck to you and keep us up to speed as you go along! -
Same story here. I was driving for a mail carrier when I got the call that my dad passed away. Three and a half years later I can now look at family pictures without being despondent as I was at the funeral. My kung ## instructor told me he was not seeing straight for about three years and that is how it was for me (maybe he set my expectations?). Returning to trucking is in fact returning to the past when I called my dad every sunday from amarillo, los angeles, atlanta, phoenix, huntsville. You can actually stop at a truck stop eventually and say to yourself inside (hey dad remember when I called you from that pay phone over there?). Trucking is really about building good memories since you get to travel like an excited kid for a living. Oh I been through all the BS complained about it but now I will just keep cool and roll with the punches.
I shot myself in the foot and thoughtlessly put an URL in my signature. I received an email that I was banned forever!!! (not a smooth move on what claims to be the #1 trucking blog). Fortunately I was banned by a robot and not a human. -
Hey Everyone:
Naturally I wait for the call from the recruiter I google endlessly. I came across this post. I hope it is not true.
US Xpress Is Only Hiring TEAMS - Topix - Mar 17
Nov 20, 2008 ... If you haven't heard by now, effective immediately across the nation, US Xpress is getting rid of all their Solo Driver's by forcing them to drive team. (had to remove link of course)
This would be awful cause I am solo and I have my heart set on driving for US Xpress. -
I was told that is not true. A few states you may have to but not everywhere. I just talked to a recruiter two days ago and he said that was the policy and about a month ago they stopped that. If your recruiter tells you any different please let us know.

@pabloDeOjinaga
i think they hire solo to but it depends on your location and what openings not sure though. i myself don't wanna team. if i was you id'e call and ask to be for sure. i hope it's not true myself
. i don't trust just anyone with my life in there hands and if was was to team id'e have to be a trainer
