Especially when in both orientation and by your Mentor (hopefully)...almost forgot also by your DM...the driver is instructed to "contact your DM or someone from the offices, whenever you encounter a problem with the shippers or receivers"!
Drivers are not to be put in customer service or public relations positions...let the pros do it...after all that is why the DM's, planners, CSR's and the like get the BIG BUCKS and drivers get pennies per mile!
Just a tad taller than Mickey Mouse!
Must be able to complete the job application, must be breathing, should be ambulatory, and bring a note from mommy that you are OK with staying out late on a school night!
Drivers don't need the note from mommy!![]()
Riddle me this...

I meant to respond to this sooner and then forgot all about it. But I guess late is better than never.
*disclaimer- the following is merely what I have gleaned from experience and is not official. I've never seen the official calculations.
Sitting in your truck with the engine off does not count toward idle time in any regard. I can sit for hours, and my idle % never changes. Engine running truck sitting for more than 5 minutes (long idle) increases idle %. Engine running truck rolling or engine running for less than 5 minutes with the truck parked decreases idle %.
So best I can figure it's the percentage of time the truck is running in "long idle" out of all the time the truck engine runs.
This allows for a small loophole. If you're sitting you can run the truck just until it shuts down, and your idle % will actually go down. 5 minutes of heat or cool sometimes is all you need.scottied67, JustSonny and Tapeworm Thank this. -
Well of course it won't.....the truck is off, not idling!!!!!

Sometimes I crack myself up....good thing too...usually nobody listens anyway! -
Want some caulk for those cracks? I've got some here in the truck.otherhalftw and Texas-Nana Thank this.
-
Not for that crack...but I do have a little leak somewhere at the top of the windshield!

*she used to be such a diminutive little character...then she started hanging around with Texas-Nana....probably borrowed one of Nana's retired pointy sticks too!*1nonly Thanks this. -
She was NEVER the shy little thing you think she was. And she doesn't need a pointy stick......she's young and very athletic......she can kick your rump.
1nonly Thanks this. -

I, THE MASTER HIJACKER....now return this thread to it's intended purpose...for the "inside guy" to answer the "outside folks" questions and gripes about the aforementioned admitted conspiracy of
DESK JOCKEYS V DRIVERS
*OTTER KNOWS WHEN HE IS OUTNUMBERED*
1nonly Thanks this. -
Pathalogical liar, able to spin BS stories on the fly..........
Edward was Dick Jones? I thought so!
The place in Cicero ships empty paint cans to Dupont. Just don't know the name. -
I suppose it could be, but, and maybe I'm over thinking this, it seems to me that if the two were the same, the advice would be the same, the complaints would be the same, the trucks would be the same. Heck, Edward even has (had?) a thread about leasing or not to lease. Granted, I haven't read the thread, but that doesn't seem like a thread Dick would post considering he already leased a truck. Assuming of course that that was all on the up and up.
Maybe the mods could let us know to quell this curious mystery?
