you are exactly right, the best companies dont advertise and i am happy to be driving for one of them.
-
ROLFMAO!
Did you work for all 5 of those in your three year career??
The OP needs to be asking this in the inside scoop forum ... or maybe they deserve an answer like that?

Take CR England off that list. They are awful. Covenant is good depending on where you live. My husband made really good team money but offtime was more or less up to you, though you might end up taking an extra simply due to location.

Great minds must think alike..haha.. I think the jury is out on ABF at this point depending on the fate of YRC and where the pension liability takes them.
This is exactly why I consider the two major UPS companies the top two jobs - they're union but not tied into the NMFA or the dinosaur known as the CSPF.. Enjoy driver - you're top mileage rate in 2013 will be .66 dude.. That's freakin unreal man.. -
I only read the first page, but I will say Crete.
I see their trucks on the road and wish I could kick the driver out and take my old job back again (local city driver now).
Crete will rehire me, but I'm staying home for now.
Great pay, great terminal managers, great mileage (if you bust ###), and paper logs. I felt like family in Crete, and I really miss them. -
Yes sirrr, I have no issues with the pay. If YRC goes under (which I would love to see), that just means more money and more business for everyone else. -
well if you are starting out its all hard and ready for you to climb on board! but i'm going with JBS then 2nd would be werner,swift,....stevens would be my last as they keep you on the bone the longest yea training that long doesnt help sheet they just ride you the longest! if it takes you that long to drive a truck then DUH WINING you ant that bright or you like working for 350wk/26mile (are you mexican?) you put more cash in there poket. just think of the first year as basic training .. Dont complain and you will make it. If you dont make it come to this site a ##### about how your bunghole hurts!

why would anybody wish for a company to go out of business? I can only hope the dest for them
-
From a selfish standpoint I do wish they go out of business. For one, UPS Freight would get a lot more business which means the need to hire more drivers. Since Im in my first year at UPS, the more they hire the better runs and money I would make. Secondly, I was with Yellow (YRC) for 2+ years. In that time, I was laid off 3 times due mostly to mismanagement at the corporate level, with the last time being called back for one run and then 2 days later being laid off again. This after I had quit a good job I had taken while on lay off.
YRC does have some very good drivers with 20+ years that I would hate to see lose there jobs. It will be interesting if they get a buyout package and how they will deal with all there pensions they will be owed.
