What do truckers want? :)

Are we talking products like engine oil, additives, etc. or products like fuel?

 

usally a harley davidson as a prize sells heaps of product. and runner up prize like oil

 

A month long all expense paid vacation in Hawaii with a handpicked select group of Hooter's girls...or the Chippendale guy's for a woman driver.

I participated in rebate programs before. As a company driver, the company pays for the oil. I would get two receipts at purchase and cash in on the rebates.

That type of promotion anyone can win. Giving out one prize really doesn't attract me as the odds are too high.

Have a superior product and it will sell itself once established.

 

Caps, T shirts, jackets, leather gloves and rebates are always good.

To me the win a Harley or a NASCAR trip are kind of a stereotypical trucker trash prize, I don't enter contests when either are given away or if I'm automatically entered I'd hope to win a lower prize.

Some of us just aren't into that.

 

I think we are skirting around the obvious here, If your product is as good or better as some of the products on the market now, why do you need some gimmik to catch buyers? Just put it out there and advertise your product as honestly as possible and see what we think. If its trash you will find out soon. But why should we be convinced it is a good product because you throw in a cheap hat or t-shirt?

 

FREE PORN! Your in the lubricant market right? Lubricants and porn are like peanut butter and jelly they just belong together. Everybody likes PORN, especially truckers. Alot and I do mean alot of truck stops have Adult stores or strip clubs of some kind in close proximity to them, this is not a coincidence . Give out some kind of FREE PORN with your product and it will make a fortune. Heard once that After oil and drugs porn was the third largest industry in the world. You are in the oil market, why not use part of the third largest market or FREE PORN to help increase your lubricant sales??.

 

What truckers really want is a decent bonus...

$1000 or more per quarter...and don't make these bonuses near impossible to get.

People who work at banks, who do far less, routinely get bonuses of $20,000 or more...

Basic ground floor people, I'm not talking about the upper levels, where there annual bonuses are in the multi-millions...

Yet a trucker will bust his but, risk life and limb in all sorts of weather, tolerate being gone for days and weeks living out of a fiber glass hut, and the best these companies can do is offer some small token bonus...a ball cap or pen...come on...
