Hey guys, have an interesting transmission that I quite figure out...

Shifter - roadranger/eaton with blue side valve button(splitter) and standard up/down range selector.

Naturally i'm thinking 13/15 speed but the splitter does not work in high range...It does split 1st gear in low range, so I started thinking it was a 8 speed LL but the pattern does not match. It has the pattern of a standard 10, but the splitter button has me thrown!

Bottom line it shifts like a standard 10 but with the 4-5 and 9-10 in reverse slots with a splitter button that only splits 1st.

9 speed LLs you dont have 6 all the by your leg and down?

I have only driven 10s and super 10s so I'm quite befuddled...

The closest shift plate that matches is a eaton fuller 10 speed (RTO) but what is the blue splitter button suppose to do?

Truck is 91 pete 379 w/cat 3406b if that helps.

Thanks in advance for any help.

ME too palazon..guess I'll get my lazy but out there and try and find some numbers on trans...

15 speed your suppose to split the high range gears right? The splitter button does not move in high range...

more coffee is needed is needed to solve this mystery , and maybe some good buiscuts.

Never driven one. I think that one is a 15 speed.

    we have a winner! Fancypants...

Thanks all you fine gentlemen...Learned a lesson, today

15 speeds you split the low side, seems strange but then again I have never pulled overweight stuff which I suppose is why you would want to split the low side...

You don't split any gears with a 15 speed. It doesn't work like a 13 at all. Push the blue button forward while in low range and it gives you 5 lower gears in deep reduction, similar to putting a 4 wheel drive into 4 low.

    Jopper Thanks this.
