    The truck I drive has a 550 cat, 4.11's and an 18 speed and she pulls just about anything I put behind her. I just wish she had more power yet. :)

    Just goes to show what you know about CATs. Or don't know.

    More than likely it was the rear end gearing/trans gearing than the engine.

    Head to head in a full on apples to apples comparison I'll lay my money on a CAT every day.

    If you can't get it to the dock then there will be no money for an undelivered load because it still sitting in the trailer that can't get to the dock!

    Ya need at least 1 backward facing gear!

    There ARE some Flatbed loads that back into a 3 sided loading bays with maybe inches to spare on each side! Some of which will try even a van driver! Been there done that before they shipped all the steel plants to some foreign country and I figured Flatbedding was to much like work! LOL!
