that routing test is super easy. account for your padding during your 11hr drive time. You will need time to fuel, bathroom, eat, knock the tires, and such.

I had today off but I needed to finish my homework, do laundry, etc so it was a nice break. I met the guys coming in that are one and two weeks behind me and they seem like they are gonna be good guys so we will be in some good company out there as drivers.
Gonna relax, get a burger, and watch some t.v.
Lady K Thanks this. -
When you know more about me, who I am and where I came from then you can make your rude uncalled for remarks..
I have had a CDL less than a year, but I have been driving professionally longer than you.. If you think driving a fire tanker or a Type III Ambulance is easy maybe you ought to try..
Sorry tim and staff, but I am just a wee bit tired of some of the holier than attitudes some people feel the need to ram down people throats. -

Today we went and picked up our CDL's and started orientation with some BORING videos from DOT about Drug/Alcohol. Not a bad day as I got out early and went to Wal-Mart to stock up on some PB, bread, potted meat, and cup-o-noodle to eat on the truck as I cannot afford to eat out and my trainer may not stop for me to get groceries.
CW...WELL PUT and no complaints here!!! -
Congrats Tim and welcome to the fold..
Just remember it's only 28 days, 17,000 miles and 40 backs. Tha 17k is on thr truckk not just you. After that the real training begins -
CW: Thanks man I appreciate it. They changed it a little tho as now they got rid of the minimum miles and now made it 200 hours of drive time. Other than that all the requirments are the same
We had videos and briefs all day today but they fed us pizza so that was cool. We all have assigned trainers now and are just waiting to hear from them. Excited but nervous...really nervous about doing a good job out there and not have an accident. That is my big thing, NO ACCIDENTS!!! -
Just got a call form my trainer (actually I missed the call and called him back). He seemed like a nice guy from the brief conversation we had. He will be in late tomorrow or early Thursday.
Excited...nervous but excited.Lady K Thanks this. -
Good luck with your trainer. Just from reading your thread, I'm sure with your attitude you will have a good experience. OMG, those small cans of potted meat! I haven't had one of those delicious (lol) sandwiches since coming off the road

I had a really odd experience with my trainer. Can anyone tell he if their trainer has ever:
-drive with his knee so he could have both hands free to txt/qualcom/phone
-props his foot up on the steering wheel adjustment lever and console so he can rest his left arm on his knee to drive easier
-tell his student to speed when they are at the max weight you can legally carry and the student only has three days experience
-have his student do on duty activities while being logged as sleeper berth
-keeping student up all day to perform on duty activities and then expect him to drive late at night until he just can't anymore (because the trainer will only drive days and is behind on his lease payment after two weeks off)
-trainer never sleeps! only sleeps a few hours each night and seems to be just fine ... is he a freak of nature or what??
-talks smack about you to the DM over the qualcom (I know because I read it over his shoulder when he didn't think I could see it)
Am I just being a big wuss about this?? I am at home for a few days and am hopeing for a new trainer soon.
