They say there is a driver shortage so the trucking companies can push the freight rates up. It's kinda like OPEC and oil. If there was a driver shortage the pay would really increase along with other perks. I don't call a cent or two an increase; it's a joke.

I finally figured out what they mean by "Driver Shortage". I'm gonna get replaced by somebody from Mexico, and they will be SHORTer and have less AGE than me!

There may be a shortage of drivers that can qualify for the ridiculous insurance company requirements.

It did. You can find articles going back to 1999 that say the same thing.
Back then carriers were pulling in drivers from Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, UK. Different day, same old bull. -
dont see a pay raise here

There is no shortage of drivers. Just a shortage of good paying driving jobs.
