After you get your permit class A "After taking written tests at DMV" They give you a packet to fill out.. usualy into your second week.. You fill those out and they fax them out for you.. i had 3 company's that wanted to hire me before i finished the school
But i have No traffic tickets no felony's or misdemeanors nothing like that.. if you have a clean record you should have no problem finding a job.
I had offers from Werner Swift U,S,Express CRST,,
I just got back from two weeks of training I went with swift "Great Company By the way"
We came home for the holidays another 4 weeks to go..
But you should have no problem finding work with a clean record. -
Thanks for the info.. I'll probaly be starting with skyway in the begining of new year. So how is swift working out for you so far? How long are you goin to be on the road and how much home time will you be getting. If you don't mind me asking, what's the pay like during training?

sounds like a recruiter and school employee having a conversation hehe
ajhoward Thanks this. -
I'm curious to know how Swift is after some more time with them. I'm attending Skyway right now, as well. It's going okay, but like you said - You have to be a self starter, and willing to learn it. Luckily - I'm not afraid of learning, provided people that have been there for months on end don't cut into "my" time. I'm there for a reason - to make a new career - not just for something to do during the day.

Yeah, you Definitely have to be a self starter while being there. However, it's not bad. You get what you pay for, I guess.
Pipe Mike Thanks this. -
Yeah I just called and talked to them... the girl was very nice and professional she did say it's only 4 hours a day for 4 weeks.. you can choose morning or afternoon. So this is 80 hours of training compared to some of the other schools that are more than double the price but they have 8 hours per day a total of 160 hours for one month. Like you said I guess you get what you pay for.

My brother has been with Landforce about a year. They do have a $250 penalty if you refuse a load. He's actively shopping for an alternative company for this and other reasons... ie. bait and switch.
