Anyone else start training on the 4th? Any women besides me? Also, anyone that has just finished training with Swift. Did you have to do a Workwell physical? I heard they dont do that anymore, but just wanted to make sure. This is my first truck driver training ever. I'm nervous, excited, scared, and my brain hurts already studing. I will be getting my permit this week, but there is so much to learn in so little time. But any imput about the millington school, trainers, mentors etc.....would be appreciated.

Thank you, I have felt quite welcome here and have had alot of support. Im so glad I found this sight because if I hadn't then I might have done something I regret. And thank goodness I wont have to do the workwell. I was a little worried. Im not weak, but dont know if I can get 75 lbs over my head. lol But If I had to, I would have given my all. Do you work for swift Kinghunter? if so which terminal are you out of? -

Well ran into a set back, I took my cdl permit test and failed the combination part of the test by 1. that stinks, but I have a retake on the 5th. So if you havent taken the test yet, read combination and driver safety real good, and the last 3 chapters on inpections. I aced the knowledge and missed two on airbrakes, but the combination test is over basically everything from 2-14. So take care, will send updates. those of you starting on the 11th, guess I will see you there. Lilbit

Calm down and have fun with this. I just went through it, and it was really simple. Hardest part was waking up so freaking early, and those long classes on mapping and such. However, you get plenty of breaks there so you can stay awake. Do not worry about studying the state DMV guide as they will tell you to throw it away when you get there.
Millington: All instructors were really cool. They do everything they can to get you to pass. Doug, was my favorite. Tony and Horace, the two classroom instructors, were great as well. In fact, I do not know any bad instructors there, I just have my favorites.
The best advice I can give is to get plenty of sleep as they are long days. And, study only as much as you need too, the exams are simple.
Do not give up sleep just to study.
Also, do not let the fast pace stress you out, it is more simple than it seems.
Feel free to mail me with any other questions, as I just went in Jan there. Now running as a team with swift.BigShrek72, Rotten and tazaaa Thank this.
