All i know is JBS is the only starter company that does't have the horror/comedy stories on this site. Yes yes you expirenced drivers can rip on them but heck i gotta start somewere i also like that they are out of the great state of Colorado *(same state that i reside in) I'm excited about going there and i plan to keep a positive attitude and a negative drug test.

To all the newbe drivers just starting out I would recommend this company. Granted, I am a newbe myself and have only been here 3 months, but like many others I have read the horror stories of other companies that I can honestly say I have not experienced here. Living with a stranger for a month is the hardest part. Hopefully you will get along well enough to become buds like we did. You will learn so much that you will think that driving school was a waste of time and money (but necessary). The day you get out on your own will be SO GOOD (and a little OMG I am actually doing this)!! It is worth it IF the lifestyle suits you. For new guys every day is a new adventure. Be safe out there...
Elkhunter and sydsdriver Thank this. -
hi all, i am a trainer her at JBS and have only read some of the posts...(to much to read)...when you start with your trainer keep in mind he is now living with a stranger too...i seem to get along with all my students well and have become friends with them..some a little ez'er then others..think about it...no other job will you live 3feet apart 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week...be patent we do our best....as for JBS as a Co. its a great place to train and then work for a # of reasions but as for the training, the fact that they run the trucks like solo's so your trainer is awake with you all the time is a good thing...(ok so I dose off sometimes it imposible not to in the passenger seat)...we are their to help...the selection process for us was strict and i can assure all of you we are looking out for your best intrests...as for the negitive stuff ya hear....sure there is some truth to it but that is the whole industry. look forword to see some of ya and who knows i my end up training you.....
moonshadow, jess-juju, MileHiBud and 5 others Thank this. -
Yes, the truck issues seem to be behind us. We have a brand new 2012 FL Cascadia and the problem was with the DEF injector. It was injecting too much into the exhaust and getting clogged. Cummins sent new software to the Freightliner dealer and they re-calibrated the system and (fingers crossed) seem to have fixed the problem. USX put us up in a very nice hotel both times and gave us breakdown pay. Kind of a paid vacation for my wife and me. Life is pretty darn good.
I blame California.....stupid DEF! -
What is a DEF tank ?
-
This company is one on my list of potential candidates
-
Diesel Exhaust Fluid . . . It's on the newest trucks. More of the environmentally friendly BS.
Elkhunter, 123456 and The Challenger Thank this. -
Once you start lugging those 2 1/2 gal jugs of that DEF to fill your tank you are gonna wish you had an older truck. There are some stations that have a pump but they are few and far between.

Thanks I would not mind going out with a trainer for a few days or a week to get back familiar with driving a big truck and definitely if it is with a good company.
Good luck to you in getting your own truck and enjoying the road!
