Anyone doing the 14/7 hometime plus slip seat. Thinking of going this way rather than national. More home time allows me to continue my small business. And im not that far from the Jacksonville terminal about 80 miles
Anyone doing the 14/7 hometime plus?

Good luck with that, I'm sure it's advertised that way because all the home time fleets are. And usually you'll get home on your rotation, but be aware you'll have to log your time at work on your off week. That might cause a problem with ability to run your first week out on the 14/7.

You lost me

If you are paid doing something on your off days then your are "supposed" to log it as on duty time. But what Roehl doesn't know about won't hurt them. If you do want to log on duty time for something on your off week just make sure that you have a 34 break before starting your tour with Roehl. Then you have a fresh 70 to work with. Maybe they changed it but I thought 14/7 was only out of Marshfield and Gary.

Last I knew only the national was available down there...........
Maybe it's changed !!! -

would would i be doing on off duty that i would have to log as on duty? I don't have the truck as it and one other truck is rotated between i believe 2 other drivers.

Any work that you get paid for you are supposed to log it in your log book. You stated above that you have a small business, so one would assume that you work at it. Check out #9...
Hours of service of drivers § 395.2 Definitions.
On duty time means all time from the time a driver begins to work or is required to be in readiness to work until the time the driver is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work. On duty time shall include: (1) All time at a plant, terminal, facility, or other property of a motor carrier or shipper, or on any public property, waiting to be dispatched, unless the driver has been relieved from duty by the motor carrier;(2) All time inspecting, servicing, or conditioning any commercial motor vehicle at any time; (3) All driving time as defined in the term driving time; (4) All time, other than driving time, in or upon any commercial motor vehicle except time spent resting in a sleeper berth;(5) All time loading or unloading a commercial motor vehicle, supervising, or assisting in the loading or unloading, attending a commercial motor vehicle being loaded or unloaded, remaining in readiness to operate the commercial motor vehicle, or in giving or receiving receipts for shipments loaded or unloaded;(6) All time repairing, obtaining assistance, or remaining in attendance upon a disabled commercial motor vehicle;(7) All time spent providing a breath sample or urine specimen, including travel time to and from the collection site, in order to comply with the random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, or follow-up testing required by part 382 of this subchapter when directed by a motor carrier; (8 Performing any other work in the capacity, employ, or service of a motor carrier; and (9) Performing any compensated work for a person who is not a motor carrier.Last edited: Mar 27, 2011

only one that applies is number 9. Frankly they can kiss my ### what i do on my off time out of a commercial vehicle is my business. -
That's great and all, but just know that you are putting yourself in a bad spot assuming something goes wrong. If you have an accident consider that your credibility has gone out the window since your logs will be false if you don't log your other job. Another thing to consider would be the fact that if you slip up and mention your other job to dispatch they may look at this in a negative light. The more you try to hide the worse the possible outcome. It's possible that you could be let go for not being honest with the company. It's also possible that it doesn't go anywhere. Just my 2 cents, do what you will.
